Meet Big Boy! Big Boy, who is assumed to have some Blue Tick Hound ancestry, and his Great Pyrenees partner (she was adopted by us) were sadly left behind when their owner passed away earlier this month. This guy is really chill and has a great personality. He doesn’t seem to know much yet but despite that he walks and runs great on a leash, hasn’t been interested in our cats or farm animals and has been quiet. Despite so many changes and the chaos of my funny farm he’s been adjusting really well.

He will be available for adoption through Coal Country Animal Rescue

I’ll be around all winter so I’ll be available for dog boarding and I have some spots still available for the holidays!

I’m not technically opening the kennel back up, this is just a temporary offer since I’ve been getting a lot of requests and it’s a slow time of year for us with the kiddos and rodeo🙂

I’m excited to make this announcement as it means we’ll have more time for family activities, kids’ sports, experiences, rodeos, etc.

#1 we are fully booked for Thanksgiving and Christmas and New Years! There is still some availability in between the holidays.

#2 And most importantly…. We are officially closing up shop to new reservations and will not be boarding pets after the first of the year!

Any current reservations will be honored!!

Good morning everyone!!!! Those of you who are boarding with me this week PLEASE check in with me ASAP if anything needs to change for you or so we can discuss drop off availability! I will be working early this week so my options for drop off will be limited but we will do our best to accommodate.

Please remember to bring enough food for 3 extra days if need be!

If anyone gets held up on their trips that is not a problem, we will be able to accommodate a longer stay without a problem.

If you’re canceling your plans please also let me know ASAP. I’ve had a lot of no calls, no shows lately.

Please remember that appointment times are VERY strict. We both work outside of the home day a few days/nights a week and the kids are active in sports. I really hate to do this but I will have to quit offering boarding to those who are repeatedly showing up outside of their appointment times.

Here is an updated look at a general timeline for the upcoming winter storm. Snow is expected to begin across southern North Dakota Tuesday morning, spreading north through the day while winds also begin to strengthen. Snow, heavy at times, and strong winds will continue across much of western and central North Dakota through Wednesday. Winds and snow should slowly lessen from west to east on Thursday.

Dogs must be leashed before getting out. I can provide one if you need.

Nails getting long?!? If you can hear them on the floor they’re too long. Check those dew claws too! Too often those guys are sneaky and will curl into your dog.

Starting Jan 1, 2022 boarding prices will increase for ANY NEW RESERVATION MADE AFTER THAT DATE! Reservations made prior to Jan 1 will stay with current rates.

2022 rates:

$25/ day for one dog
$40/day for two dogs to share a kennel

Had to snap a quick picture in the midst of morning chores!!

Just wanted to send out a quick update before our big holiday rush!

We’re so excited to be in our new place! While we miss our neighbors in GV we’re thrilled to have room to stretch out and to have critters again!
We’re up to 4 horses, 2 goats, 2 dogs, 4 cats, a gecko and a bearded dragon!

Please keep it mind the boarding room IS still a work in progress so bear with us as we continue our changes!

Our kennel will stay small, relaxed and quiet. Yes, it is heated and cooled!

If you don’t know our new Hazen location please let me know and I’ll send you a pin. The address is generally unreliable!

If your pet will be staying with us over Christmas and we haven’t discussed drop off times let’s do that ASAP! 🙂

We have a few new rules at our new place.

1. All dogs must be on a leash BEFORE exiting the vehicle. If you don’t have one I can provide one.
We’ve had a few close calls with dogs being let out at drop off time and being too excited to see the goats and horses 😂

2. Everything we do is by Appt only, these appt times are incredibly important. We have very active kids and we both work outside of the home too. We need adequate time to get everyone settled.

3. Please provide only enough food for your pups’ stay plus 2 extra days. If something comes up I’m more than happy pick more food up but as of now we don’t have enough storage space to handle huge storage tubs or full size bags that is in a cat free zone ! 😂😂 You’d think they didn’t get free choice top of the line food or treats ! 🤦🏻‍♀️😂

4. You’re welcome to pet the goats, and the two older horses but the blue roan (looks black now) is still a baby and we can’t trust her not to be... well... shady!

PSA!!!
With this beautiful weather this summer a lot of folks are out and about with their 4 legged crew!

PLEASE take precaution and keep this in mind when walking your dog! It’s deceiving just how hot asphalt can be!

Also! Remember to inspect your pups paws for tar, rocks, ticks and other aggravations!

We’ve moved! We’re now located just outside of Hazen!!

Grooming, for the time being, is still in Golden Valley unless otherwise stated. We’re working on getting our new spa up and running.

I’m looking to have some appts available end of June, early July. I will post updates with those dates. If you’d like added to the list of when I have availability please comment below!
