The pinktoe tarantula (Avicularia avicularia) is a favorite of many invertebrate keepers. These tarantulas are relatively short-lived, with males living for around 3-4 years, and females living for up to 12 years. Native to Venezuela, Guyana, Suriname, French Guiana, Trinidad and Tobago, Peru, Bolivia, and Brazil, pinktoe tarantulas have been bred and maintained under human care in many parts of the world for several decades. The species is known for having a fast growth rate, and arboreal habit. These New World tarantulas have Type II urticating hairs, meaning they are transferred through direct contact rather than being kicked into the air.

This popular tarantula species is often considered a great choice for beginners as well as for display, due to its docile temperament and beautiful appearance. While they are docile, they are known to jump when startled. They are also known to fling f***s as a defensive behavior, up to two or three feet away. Pinktoe tarantulas require some humidity but with good ventilation in a vertically oriented arboreal set up. Pinktoes breed readily under human care, and are reliably available. If you are interested in keeping a pinktoe tarantula as a pet, ensure that you support responsible tarantula keeping by seeking out captive bred animals and detailed care information.

We LOVE VISITS!!! 🐶🤍💚 It was A DOG'S day today 😍 as we got visits from our favorite OLLIE'S! YES ... both dogs have the same name, and equally as cute!!
Eventhough though the ROTTIE is my fur nephew, we loved on them equally!!
