Jake Skaggs - Kennel Tech/Trainer
Hunting has always been Jakes passion! He’s hunted just about everything you can hunt in the state of Ohio. He’s always had a thing for learning how animals socialize with one another. The first species he studied was wild turkeys. He learned the different sounds that they made at certain times of the year and what those sounds meant in the woods. He then bought his first turkey call and learned to replicate those sounds and nearly perfected them at that. He took the skills he learned and entered his first calling competition and needless to say he won first place. These skills also transitioned into the turkey Woods as he was able to start harvesting more birds year after year. This is what started his passion for waterfowl hunting. Learning the language of ducks and geese in the fall and winter led him to purchasing his first calls and lanyard! Next thing he knew, he was out on the water harvesting birds with great buddies and making memories of a lifetime.
Over the years Jake has hunted over many of dogs. C**n dogs, rabbit dogs, bird dogs, and even squirrel dogs. Last year he got his first black lab, Diesel. Since then
day he came home, they went straight to work! After a lot of not so helpful YouTube videos and some great tips and guidance from Mazzino, Diesel started to show amazing progress! And now he wants to help produce dogs with those same exact skills.
