This hand targeting game is a fundamental skill. It may look like a parlor trick to entertain your friends and family - but it is way more than that! Hand targeting is a form of engagement. It can be used to warm the dog up for training sessions or competition; and it is the basis for more advanced skills like going to a mat or even the recall. It can also be used as a recovery technique when your dog is in a situation where he feels anxious and doesn’t quite know what to do with himself. And it’s also just plain fun!
