Last night, Sissy saw a ghost… but that’s part of it. Barrel racing is so humbling especially when all you have is colts and it’s their first year on the road.
(Yes she is going to get vet checked)
I thought this was the perfect opportunity to explain something that I think is missing in the rodeo community.
Pet your horse.
They don’t know what they did wrong, they don’t know how much moneys on the line. Go run and pet your horse.

I see so many riders yanking and pulling on their horses after they don’t meet their expectations. Thats awful horsemanship and you’ve already caused more problems than to begin with. Taking it out on your horse does nothing but tear their confidence apart.
After this run, I simply walked her down. Unsaddled her and gave her water. Just like every other run.
Good or bad run….. take responsibility for your horses actions, understand that things happen, and their will be another race.
Theirs a right time and place for schooling your horses. There is no right place or time to rip your horses face off because they aren’t doing exactly what you want.
Nobody thinks you’re cool for beating on your horses and taking it all out on them.
Yes this was a little embarrassing, but it dosent matter what people think about my training. I know my horses and I know she was confused but we have to keep moving forward.
Thank you for reading my Ted Talk🫶🏻😊
My girl worked hard for me this weekend❤️
To run one you patterned and trained yourself is a different kind of satisfaction! We may have hit the 2nd but that’s just part of it!
Thank you Siss for always taking care of me❤️
Titan is only in his first two weeks of training and he is really starting to get it! He has so much confidence and has a bright future ahead of him. I haven’t really fallen in love with a gelding but this one is starting to grow on me💙
This 3yr old is putting on her big girl pants and finding some new gears! She is such a pleasant mare to have around and to ride. I’m so excited to see where the future holds for this big girl! 🩷
Tiffany Sullivan💕
Well today was Willa’s last day!🥲 We’re gonna miss her but I am so excited to watch her grow and build a future with her owner❤️ Willa was a very calm and good minded filly. She worked hard for me and always had a very kind attitude. She loved to play and get into anything she can find🤣. She’s definitely one of a kind and I’m very happy with her!
It is almost time for this little girl to go home🥲
This 2yr old has been such a smart one! She’s always wanting to learn and try her best💖
She has been in my program for nearly 60 days and has exceeded our expectations. She has a very bright future ahead of her so y’all better watch out😉
You know how when kids are little they get a little scratch or a bruise and immediately think they need a bandaid…. Groovy is that child!! Except the “bandaid” is actually a vet poking her leg and said she looks fine she’s just a little dramatic

This 2yr old has been so much fun!! She’s a dream💞
This 2yr old is a dream💞
We’re not letting this weather slow us down🌧️🌧️

Willa-Day 3 in training
Just realized I never posted this but groovy took home some money last weekend!! She is doing amazing!! I am so blessed to have this mare❤️
Day 1: For her first day she is already trotting a perfect pattern!! There will be many more days of this but what a great start for this big girl😊
Kinda late on the Mini Tip Wednesday but…
All of my horses are started in a halter/bosal. I want all of my horses to be able to move off of pressure and be soft before I worry about being soft with a bit. I also do this just in case you forget your bridal on a trail ride you won’t have to worry cause you’ll still have control! One little step that goes into a DownLow Horse!!
Mini tip Wednesday💥
This week I’m gonna give y’all a little tip for a good stop! When you stop, no matter what speed, make sure to back up a few steps. This engages the hind end muscles and allows for a quicker stop over time!💕
Sissy showing out this evening💕
This weather has been very humbling but we made it work!! Sissy is gradually getting better every time I get on. We had so much fun playing in the mud yesterday and spent some time with some friends🤍
Starting today every Wednesday I will be doing a Mini Tip Wednesday!
Today I’m going to share a tip that helps with collection and conditioning.
One thing I think is very important for my horses is lowering their head when I ask. This engages their hypaxial, multifidus, and the longus muscles in their neck and head. Here in this video I lift the reins to tell Sissy to put her head down. I make sure they can do this at a walk, trot, and a lope.
What does this benefit?
I see so many horses that are so excited that they almost give their riders a bloody nose. This tip allows more control and collection which leads to them paying more attention to the job. Collection is key when starting a horse on the trail or the pattern!
This is one extra thing your horse will know when they go home after training! Just one of the small details that make a DownLow horse.
God Provides….
As some of you may know I gave up the best mare ever to start my business. I also gave up many other horses to fund and make things easier. I kicked myself for not keeping the other horses and fighting for that mare but God provides. 2 weeks later Groovy popped up on my feed and for some reason she stuck out to me and I kept seeing the post. Then people started tagging me in it and here we are! I was so down and out and I thought I made the biggest mistake of my life giving up everything. I thought it was the dumbest decision ever. God knew where I was. He told me to hold on and be patient.
Here we are 5 months later making runs like this. I love this mare so much and I couldn’t ask for a better partner. It sucks not making those 1D runs every weekend like I used to but she has thought me so much and I wouldn’t change a thing. She may still be figuring stuff out and we’ve had some set backs because of her injury but we’re back better than ever! So so so very thankful for this girl. I’ve been so blessed❤️
