Shane’s lazy way to get visually appealing decor for slings on a budget. I use a LOT of 40 dram vials as sling housing, and so decor for them needs to be fairly small. I’ve found it to be quick, easy, and fairly inexpensive to take a single larger aquarium “plant” and pull apart all the pieces, and then depending on the size, cut each piece into smaller ones. this can get you Quite a lot of tiny enclosures decorated with a single 5-20 dollar decoration.

in this instance i got about 30 dram vials worth , plus a larger tree skeleton that will go great in a little larger GBB, Balfouri, or other heavy webbing species enclosure. All from a single tree that could be bought for like 10 bucks.

To whomever found and turned in my phone at the Show today, THANK YOU! I was seriously stressing there for the hour or so it was missing, and if you see this post, i’d really like to know where it ended up. (i have a theory about me being dumb and want to know if i’m right. LOL)

To anybody i had to turn down because i couldn’t process a card transaction while my phone was missing, i apologize. i’m always a dissaster but not usually that bad… 🤦‍♂️

And special thanks to the hosts of the show, Red Rosvall for helping out saturday, and everyone who attended and said hello! was a really good time for us and we hope to be back next time. :)

Forgot to take a picture of the mostly set up booth before i left, but we’re excited to see everybody tomorrow at the Wasatch expo. We’re in the corner on the second floor, so feel free to just ignore everyone on ground level and rush upstairs. 😜

Oh, and just an FYI if you see me coughing/dying or covering my face a lot, don’t pay it any mind. i’ve become rather incapable of breathing most perfumes and artificial scents over the last year or two, and we got a little unfortunate with positioning near a vendor selling soaps… so it’s gonna be a tad rough on me but i promise, i’m not sick and it’s nothing contagious or anything. And if i’m being really brief in responses or giving short answers it’s not because of you (just trying to minimize breathing) and if you need me to elaborate, just ask and i will try to be more thorough in my explanation. :)

And you peobably thought they couldn’t get any cooler. well turns out *SOME* of the colors LIGHT UP under a uv light. Special thanks to Mason Olds for the fancy flashlight. i’m having lots of fun with it. LOL

Edit: All my typing didn’t post! 🤦‍♂️ 0.1.0 H. baviana molt is 1.8” DLS photos in the comments for reference. The points in the vid are the sharp points of the pins in the other pics, and the microscope screen 6” across for additional refference on magnification level. this is why a grainy, or blutty picture of the molt from your little sling or juvenile spider isn’t nearly enough to reliably sex from and why i hate trying to sex from peoples pictures. it’s not personal. It’s just that more often than not, it’s not nearly clear enough, an dunless you already know what you’re looking for and at, it’s unlikely that you’ll have what we need in the photo of anything this small. I also belive attempting to sex early is why we have seen so many females mislabeled as males, and why so many people claim that they always or only get males.

Huge shout out to Zach for helping out at the show this weekend. Was a HUGE help and did amazing. Plus he designed us some awesome enclosure backgrounds which i will showcase later. 😎 And hard to believe but i totally forgot to ever take a picture of our booth this weekend, but was pretty good. LOL

So i’ll admit, when it comes to plants i’m quite the dummy, but i get asked often enough about setups people make using live plants, very often for arboreal species, and the plants (often pothos) always get planted at the bottom, with the hope they will eventually go up for the spider, But there’s a lot of difficulty it seems to START with something appropriately located near the top, and this is an attempt to make that easier All the plant peeps out there. Please criticize any issues you see. Like i said, i’m a dummy, so if there are issues i’ve overlooked, i’d like to address them.
