Snuggles for Piper
Our sweet Piper is slowly getting through this process. When her right rear leg stopped working last week she was down to one functioning leg. But each day we are helping her with PT stretching and massage. We also have Rescue Remedy that we use if she gets overly anxious.
Hanging out on the front bench in the sun has been enlivening. But, the brightest spot this weekend was the gift box from Kansas City filled with an adorable quilt and pillow created by my sister Monica. Piper loves it and it really cheers everyone up.
Thanks to Monica and everyone for your continued support of this little sweetheart. She/we appreciate it so much!

Piper Loves Leap Day
Piper is doing well. She had a vigorous PT session and we readjusted her brace. She now wears it for 6 hours at a time. We will also be adding a few new exercises to her regimen. One is a “figure eight” to help her strengthen her legs and hips. And the “Cookie” is for Core strengthening. As long as we lead with a peanut butter spoon she will be agreeable. It really tires her out.

Tomorrow she has her sedated x-ray which will help us know which surgical technique is best for her recovery.
