I am focused on the needs of the client and their dog. There is no "one size fits all" method in canine training, but there many common and accepted methods which can be used. I believe by adapting to the dog in front of me, the best results will be reached.

Me and have been friends for a very long time. I really miss that four legged fur ball of joy! I’m glad he’s enjoying retirement! If you see him or his human, say hello for me…..

This is a short video, but it demonstrates one of the most powerful tools when it comes to training……don’t reward bad or unwanted behavior! Topper jumped up and put his paws on her leg, he wanted food. Instead of talking to him or pushing him down, she stepped away from him. This takes away the incentive of jumping on her leg. Dogs only spend energy on activities that give them what THEY want/need. If there is no reward in jumping, the jumping will stop on its own! “The juice ain’t worth the squeeze.”

Working on “down”. The first part of the video is only luring to position. Once “Sadie” understood what we wanted we “named” it! Rachel is putting in the work and it shows!

Going through videos and I realized I had not posted this one! Train hard, then train some more!

This is sad but true!

It was a great week of training, not all of it E Collar related, but all of it was valuable. As a trainer, my first goal is to learn from every dog and handler I come into contact with. If I’m not willing to learn and grow, there is no way I can pass information to others. I appreciate the hard work put in this week. Thank you for trusting me. Thanks to for the decoy work and a special thanks to .dog.training for hosting. Now it’s back to my “day job”! More videos and photos will be posted!

I was going to put music to this and make a fancy video, but I decided to just let the video speak for itself. Obedience to commands (not control of the K9) is what i want the teams I train to have. This allows the dog to use natural instinct and its own thoughts to solve problems. Far less conflict with the handler.

Here is the unedited video of K9 Thanos and the vehicle deployment. Clear understanding of the overall task and good verbal recall! Consistency pays off!

K9 Bruno deploying to apprehend a wanted fugitive refusing to surrender. Deputies remain behind cover and use the K9 in an attempt to deescalate this dangerous situation.

Video #3. The one thing I’ll point out is that these were all “blank” searches. There were no decoys to find. It is important for the dogs to understand there won’t always be a suspect to locate during a search.

Video #2

Team Integration is not only the dog working with the team, but it’s also the team working with the dog. Each individual operator has to stay focused on their responsibility while not worrying about the dog. (Easier said than done!)

I will post 3 videos showing the teams pushing the dogs and learning to work together. There is still work to be done, but we have laid down a solid foundation. One step step at a time!

Enjoy video #1

So between training sessions with pointy eared, “bitey” dogs I get to work with cuties like this! Say hello to Phoebe (or Maddie, I can’t keep them straight!). I’ll add a video of Maddie (or is it Phoebe?) in the comments. These “sisters” are a blast to work with!!

Say hello to H’Opel, my newest four legged friend. Look at those ears!!

A video from integration work this week. Not the best camera work, but the teamwork with the K9 is on point!
