To Rescue (The Ontario Rescue) is a non-profit organization dedicated to rescuing animals. It is our belief that all animals deserve a healthy home filled with love and attention. We are devoted to the rehabilitation of cats, rabbits, hamsters, guinea pigs, but will never turn away an animal in need. Through the use of resources, education, and the assistance of passionate volunteers, we will work together to obtain one goal, to help find a loving, caring and secure home for our furry friends.

This was a beautiful ending to a sad start for Mama Teagan and her three little kitties, Theo, Teddy, and Tiffany. They were living outdoors in a colony when our rescue first took them in. Their foster mom did an excellent job loving and caring for them. We found a family willing to adopt the entire family into two separate homes. Tiffany gets to stay with her mom, Teagan, with whom she is very bonded. Teddy and Theo get to stay together because the two brothers are inseparable. Thank you to all the wonderful applicants. We wish we had more of them, but this was the best outcome for all four of them. And a big THANK YOU to the wonderful person who sponsored the adoption fee for Teagan making her adoption possible. Congrats to both families for choosing to adopt.

Our kitties enjoy receiving new toys today. They have just received an early Christmas gift and eagerly awaited our unwrapping of them. Octavia is a very beautiful and loving 14-week-old little girl. She has been raised in a loving environment around all sorts of animals. She enjoys being around people and is very affectionate. Kaplan is such a lovable dog. He is 10 months old, has been neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, and microchipped. He’s been raised in a loving environment around all kinds of animals. He does great around goats, pigs, dogs, cats, and tortoises. He’s also been around chickens and roosters. He’s always looking for affection and likes to lay his head on your lap. We know he’s not your typical fluffy, furry little guy, but with a personality like his, looks shouldn’t be everything. He weighs about 30 pounds and is a mixture of pug and husky. This kitty was rescued in 2013. She was the only survivor on the property where she was found. We notched her ear so she could return, but after finding out that the entire colony of kitties had been killed, she couldn’t return. We tried to relocate her, but couldn’t find a safe place for her to go. So our Rescue kept her. She’s used to me and comes to me for food every single night, meowing and being nice, but from a distance. She will never be able to be adopted because she’s feral and has remained feral throughout the years. But at least she has a safe place she can call home and where she is safe to roam free.

Luna likes to wait and sit underneath the mobile table that we use to prepare the kitty's food. As soon as she knows her food is ready, she walks over to her cage, jumps in, has her dinner, and is ready for bedtime. Cats are incredibly smart; they pick up directions and routines. She has been living with us for many years, hoping for her chance to be adopted. She is looking for a quiet place where she can lay her head, someone who will pet her and give her love. Peanut was only a day old when our rescue took her in. She was the runt of the litter and needed the most care. She loved her mama, but once she got her independence, she was off. She has a wonderful personality and is super loving. She's obedient, loves to go for car rides, and now has a loving forever home of her own. She has been adopted, and we couldn't be happier for her. I know her foster family will miss her, but she now has a permanent forever home. Congrats to her new family for choosing to adopt such a wonderful girl.

The vet's office called her Squishy because of her beautiful squishy face. We found her an awesome new home. Her new mom picked her up today. This beautiful girl, who was once dumped and left abandoned in the desert, now has an awesome forever home. Thank you to everyone who wanted to help her, shared her picture, and prayed to help find a forever home. We are very grateful. Congrats to the new family for choosing to adopt.

I had a lot of errands to run yesterday, picking up donated food for our animals. Sammy is one of our long-term residents who is not up for adoption. It would take a very special family that can deal with a kitty that is not very social and doesn’t let you go anywhere near her innorder dor her to be adopted. She was dumped about five years ago along with one of her babies. Her baby was socialized and adopted, but Sammy remains in our care. She was very upset that I was feeding the kitties later than usual. They have an internal time clock, and how dare I mess with that. She finally got fed and was happy, and off she went.

Tommy is such a sweet pig. He is now a year old and is looking for a loving forever home. He is neutered and has been raised around other animals. He likes his belly rubbed, treats, and being around people. He has a very calm demeanor and is incredibly sweet. He's not a big pig and was born in our rescue about a year ago. This is what Isla loves most: getting attention and affection. She is such a lovable dog, and we want a loving forever home for her. She gets along great with other dogs and has been around our cats. She enjoys going for walks and does great in a car. She’s a pug mix who is about two years old and came to us with a litter of puppies. She is now ready for a loving forever home of her own.
