With heavy hearts, we join our neighbors in Boerne in mourning the tragic loss of K9 Chico, a devoted member of the Boerne Police Department who was killed in the line of duty on April 10, 2025.

K9 Chico was more than just a working dog—he was a hero, a protector, and a cherished partner to his handler. His courage and loyalty exemplified the deep bond between K9 officers and their human counterparts, and his service to the community will not be forgotten.

Our team at Hill Country Animal Hospital stands in solemn support of the Boerne Police Department and all those grieving the loss of Chico, an incredible K9 officer.

Rest easy, K9 Chico. Your watch is over, but your legacy lives on. 🖤💙🐾
