I bought these Dig Defense metal panels, but went with cinder blocks under a gate instead. They have been sitting in their shipping box in my carport for years now. Four 32"x8" panels, covers about 12' of fencing to prevent dogs from getting or digging under. Asking $45 for all 4.

I have learned over the past two decades that the best thing for you, your dog, and the other dogs is to do drop offs and pick ups as quickly as possible.

DROP OFF
1) Please, drive down to the kennel building. Walking your dog down gives the other dogs more time to work up a frenzy and with the summer heat, that gravel is too hot for your dog's paws!
2) Less is better when it comes to how many people go into the kennel building!
If you have extra people with you, unless you need their help with the dog, have them stay in the car.
3) Safety is the priority. Close the door after you enter, so no one has to chase a dog across Helper!4) Try to make the process as quick and calm as possible. Put your dog in their run and latch the gate. Then put their food and anything else you brought in the bin. I can put beds and blankets down after you leave.
5) Leaving your dog is harder on you than it is on them, but long goodbyes just prolong the time all the dogs are over excited.

PICK UP
1) Drive down to the kennel building.
2) Leave the car door open for loading. But shut the kennel front door behind you!
3) Go to the bin on the shelf with your dog's stuff and get your leash, if you left one. Then go and let your dog out of their run.
4) Don't forget their food and items in the bin on the shelf.
5) Dog beds and blankets are some times found on their gates or on top of the runs.
6) If you can, please, put their metal dog door in for me. It makes a big difference in keeping the building warm or cool.

The day has finally come, that I have been waiting for since December! Days are now getting shorter and eventually the sunrise and my ability to get my butt out of bed will get back into alignment!

I managed to dump over my collection of retired clothes pins and the ones of dogs that have moved away! Odd considering they have been there getting dusty for a couple of decades. Washed up the name tags, but not sure if my memory will serve to sort them out. I may just take them up to the house to use as clothes pins, so I can be reminded all my buddies lost over the past 20 years!

So this old dog can learn new tricks! Writing the dogs' names on their bowls when they eat different food. So simple, so effective, you would have thought I could have started doing this 20 years ago!

Anyone need eggs? The hens are really laying now! More than my regular clients need. $5 per dozen, I can deliver in Price or Helper or you can pick up with your doggie pick up! I try to collect blue dog Christmas ornaments. Not much luck in finding any in the past few years. I was delighted to find a mini blue balloon dog this year! Then my daughter surprised me with 4 new ornaments. She got 3 dog blanks at Joann's and painted them blue for me!

Thankfully, I dug out my paths to the chickens and dogs last night at 9pm or I would not have found them this morning. Had to clear a way from the coop door to the covered feeding area for the hens! A chicken in deep snow is quite the sight!
At lunchtime, I will be digging a path in the play yard snow for the dogs to run on. I haven't had to do that in years!

At ten minutes to 7, that's supposed to be me walking down to the kennel!

Getting old is hard on all of us, so us 'old ladies' stick together! Abbreviated Fetch for this ball obsessed, but getting too old for fetching, yellow lab!

A decidedly undignified way of wrestling!

When you are a newbie to the Ranch, and your goal is perpetual barking; it is good to have your brother support you in your endeavor!

I really enjoyed having this little miss for a long stay at the ranch. I was amused by her leaping from the moment she arrived. Each morning, I lock the dogs outside while sweep the dust and dog fur out of their runs. First morning that I opened the windows to air out the kennel while I cleaned, I got some extra attention!

Best part of my job! Getting Best Friends from random drop offs and pick ups. Just too sad that these two only got one day together. They are a great match up!

I recorded this little bit making far more noise than her size would predict! It seems tame compared to the noise being generated this weekend! Turn your volume down, not only loud, but painful.

I got to sleep in today, no dogs in the kennel! I got notified by my Ring cameras of visitors to the kennel this morning! I count 5, with perhaps a sixth moving in the background!

I am having trouble getting up and out with our suddenly very cold temperatures! So there were a few visitors to the kennel ahead of me this morning.

But also, too loud!
