⭐️EXCITING NEWS!⭐️
Montana Mathewson here...
I guess it’s time to reveal what I’ve been keeping a bit of a secret (unless you know me very personally lol).
Time has kind of come full circle! As some of you know my mom, Amber Rain Mathewson , competed in the 2009 Extreme Mustang Makeover competition! This is when the well know Trouper the Mustang came to live with us when I was just two years old. Trouper was the horse of my dreams and was such a hard thing to loose in my life. Here recently we were blessed with the now known Memphis the Mustang that we got at the 2024 Mustang makeover! Don’t worry he’s still amazing and such a light in my life! ANYWAYS…. without Memphis being brought into my life I don’t think I would be doing what I’m doing next month. But the time has come for me to do what I’ve wanted to do for a very long time and compete in the 2025 Extreme Mustang Makeover!!!
On December 14th I will be picking up a completely wild Mustang and taking the six months given to train it to the best of my ability for the competition in June at the Kentucky horse park! The Mustang will be at or under 2 years old and I will not be riding it for the competition I will be strictly in hand as I know it is what’s best for me to do my first time at my age! If you know anything about me you know that I have always had a love for horses and thanks to my wonderful mother I have gained a strong love for mustangs and what they mean to our county!
My prayer going forward is that the Lord take care of me and my Mustang and let us shine the light of the Lord onto others during the whole process! I pray that this Mustang becomes an ambassador for the Mustang name, and teaches me valuable lessons through this journey. I pray that I gain some lifelong friendships through this adventure that I will forever cherish. I pray that I can be a little more like my momma and carry the love and passion she does for mustangs through my journey as she did with hers. And I pray that I have so much fun! Because winning is not what I am here for! It is the experience and the relationships I will gain through the whole process that keeps me doing what I love best!
I plan to document the whole process on Facebook and lord willing I will post to YouTube and other platforms for everyone to stay involved! I am so thankful I am able to compete this year, even though we’ve had a few setbacks on the way, I think they won’t even amount to the joy I will feel when I reach all the milestones!
Stay tuned for updates and all that jazz in the near future!
Here’s to new journeys and great Mustang adventures 🐴❤️
