Having a great time doing a barn hunt demo for the 4-H club. Thank you Jacy for the invitation and opportunity
After a a couple quick intro sessions, Arlo rocked his first Barn Hunt practice! I cannot wait to see this team grow into the sport.
Team Murphy on fire again tonight for leagues. Murphy is gaining so much confidence and is now digging at the tubes. He has come a long way from when he started just a few short months ago. Way to go Tracey and Murphy!
9 month old Maverick logging in some good Q’s for the Spring Fun League. Becky and Mav are improving their skills as a team in each training session. We are so proud of how far they have come.
Our first time hosting MBHC Barn Hunt Trial has come to a close. The Cinco de Mayo trial was a success! We had lots of fun, good weather, amazing food, themed courses and best of all , lots of talented teams! Thank you all for your support and we can’t wait to see you in July!
A special thank you to our Judge Lynn Benish and Back Up Judge Kim Kern 💕
We would love to see your pictures!
One of Miss Helga’s qualifying runs from league today. Nice job Team Helga! All four of the teams did well today. Running in trial format adds a whole new level to practices.
I tune out the birds apparently during practice but golly it sounds like we have a full fledged Aviary in the video. 🤣 🐦 🐦🐦

Happy Easter from our family to yours! The Easter Bunny stopped by and left some goodies for the grandkids. We hope you have a blessed day !
Alesha and Mercy have been working hard on the schedule and website updates! Be on the lookout out for new training opportunities coming your way!
We had a great clinic with beginner teams yesterday! 5 dogs were successfully started on rats . Here is a quick video of Grimm. Just a young guy already finding two rats on his first day, surprising even his owners.
We have two more clinics this coming Saturday and classes during the week if you would like to see if your fur baby would love it! I 99% guarantee they will 💕🐾💕
Sorry y’all, had to speed up the video so that Facebook would allow the full video.
Sorry we have been a bit quiet this last week. As some of you may know, Alesha and I took in two rescue pups last Friday night. These two girls are 5 month old GSD x Malinois pups who have been malnourished, unsocialized and have not had any training, worming or vaccinations. Mercy weighed in at 16 lbs and poor Hope at 11 lbs. literally the size of 10-12 week old pups 😢 In the 5 days they have been here, they have received their first puppy shot, dewormed 3 days, given good quality puppy food, bathed and started basic obedience, crate training and potty training. Proud to say that worms are vacating, puppies have gained weight and last night was the first night they slept all night with no accidents or screaming. These girls are very intelligent and willing to please. We are working through their timidness and fear of people (mostly men). Excited to see their progress as they decompress and blossom with love and attention.
We will be rehoming them when they are ready and will be screening for the perfect forever home. Let us know if you think that may be you! Please research the breeds first ! These girls will need lots of training and a job.
Please enjoy this clip of the girls during one of their training sessions.
Meet Hope and Mercy…
Please, please, please let us know if you can not make it to class. We would prefer not to have to make classes paid in full at booking. Besides us worrying something bad has happened to you, we have been in the barn getting the heat going, rats tubes up and the ring ready to go for your appointment.
But on a positive note, we used the extra time to do some nosework run throughs with Jax and Vera.
Jeremy and his son John adopted this beautiful GSD pup about three weeks ago. They brought Kilo to see us today for some basic obedience. Here is a quick snippet of some off leash work on her new name recognition. She is one smart girl and we look forward to helping them reach their goals.
Maverick is just 5 months old and loving Barn Hunt! His GSD squeals of excitement get me every time! 💕
A quick “Rat!” from each competing Scent Savvy team this week at the trial. These teams have consistently put in the work and boy did it pay off! We cannot express how proud we are!

We have loved watching this team flourish and grow together. Shannon and Dagger have a great relationship already and Barn hunt is just refining that bond. Dagger gives really subtle clues to a rat’s location meaning Shannon has to be on her toes to catch them. He loves the game but is a true gentleman and asks to play with the tubes first 🙂 This team trials for the first time this coming week and we are super excited for them! GO team Dagger! #getthoserats #barnhunt
I am a little behind on posting videos so please bear with me…
This short clip is from our session with Link and his owner. We had a great time with Link and look forward to working with them again!
Happy birthday to our phenomenal mentor Karli Mueller-Brough🎉 We cannot thank you enough for sharing your love of barn hunt with us. Have a wonderful day from Jaxon, Laura, Vera and Alesha.
Thank you to all who came to the first annual Day of the Dog. We had beautiful weather , gorgeous dogs, lovely owners, plenty of food and loads of fun! Thank you from all of us at Scent Savvy Canine Center LLC, Canine Unifursity and Unleashed Dog Training
Miss Isla and Cindy were here today for a fun barn hunt lesson. We worked on building drive for a stronger indication on the rat tube. By the end of class, she was hitting them strong and moved up to two rats. Way to go Team Isla!!!
