On February 14, 2014, Harley, our Golden Retriever, was only 6 years old when he was diagnosed with cancer. We were devastated. Testing determined that it was a very aggressive form of Melanoma located in one of his toes. His toe was amputated, and we were told that his margins were very good, and the cancer did not spread. He also received a series of 4 DNA vaccines to stimulate his immune system.On October 30, 2014, one day after his 7th birthday, cancer cells were found in one of his lymph nodes. We were confused as we thought that his prognosis was excellent. We decided once again to do what we had to for our baby. We were all in! The lymph node was surgically removed, and he received radiation treatment in Carlsbad, California, twice a week for 3 weeks. During this time, we frantically researched the cause, optional treatments, and cures. It was eye opening to realize that the common factor for the cause all led back to nutrition.And that’s when our journey began.So that we could afford the mounting expenses, we started a small business called for Harley, selling dog bows, bandanas, and other handcrafted pet related items. He visited his vet every three months and received a DNA vaccine every six months. But most important, we changed his diet. After every visit, our Vet reminded us to enjoy our miracle.
