It's been the longest 9+ days of not having this page. In 9 years we have never had any trouble with our rescue page until last week. Meta says it was a glitch. It's supposed to be fixed now. But they said that for other times last week. 😞
This will be a test, posting this right now. I'll try to catch everyone up a bit but sooooo much has happened since it went away originally for no reason on Nov 3rd. 🥺 I'm again terrified to make any post in fear of it going away again but I have to try. I'm not going to add any pictures yet, as that's when our page immediately went away 5x last week. Each day Monday through Friday. 😭
We unfortunately lost 2 kitties in 8 days, right before and while our page was down. Icicle and Shilo. 💔💔💔
We had just whittled our bill at inspirada Animal Hospital down to $1,000 about 3 weeks ago. Then it jumped to $2200 with several other kitties that week before our page was suspended. We were in the process of updating on all of that and then the emergency with Icicle had a blockage. 😭💔 IAH unblocked him, only for him to block again and he couldn't be saved. 💔💔💔 His bill alone was another $2200.
Then we were at the ER this past Friday night unexpectedly and had to pay $1100 instantly before they would treat Shilo. We couldn't admit him because it would've been an additional $2200-3900 for 24 hours with basic supportive care. We opted to take him home for 4 hours until Inspirada opened at 8:00 a.m. On Saturday. We were waiting at the door when they opened. He couldn't be saved. 💔💔💔
His bill at Inspirada for 9 hours was $603.50. We paid that two days ago. I picked him up on Monday and took him for communal cremation to save us $. That was $100. We paid it.
To say it's been an extremely difficult last 2 weeks is an understatement. The hardest by far in our 9 years. Our 9th year anniversary of the rescue is this Sunday Nov 16th. And of course these weren't our only 2 medical kitties in the last 2 weeks. 😰
TYTYTY to those of you who saw my posts on my personal FB page and donated to Shilo over the weekend. We were able to raise $1230 for Shilo which covered the ER visit and his cremation. Ty Sara for your $1000 donation and everyone who helped us get to $1230. 🙏😭 I will be updating that post today with everyone's names. Unfortunately, I cannot post any bills paid in the body of this post for fear that AI will take us down again. 😞 Not willing to go there yet. This post with just words and numbers will be the true test today.
Today is Wishlist Wednesday. Because of all of this. And the need for wet and dry food plus our current bill at Inspirada is $2758.58 😩 we are doing it a little differently today.
