Brunch today. Meal #2. She gets 4 small approximately 1 oz meals today. She's been resting in between. All kitties that are outside hardly sleep because every single sound they hear scares them. They're always on guard. π’ It's heartbreaking to know that so many others are outside suffering right this minute and they may never get found, helped or saved. Be kind to kitties and all outside creatures. They didn't ask to be born. Kitties and other furries can survive a long time on water or even be brought back to life with goats milk. NEVER cows milk! That's a myth! Cow's milk can kill cats or make them very very sick. πΏ
Help us save others. Adopt. FOSTER. Foster-to-adopt and Foster Furrever, volunteer, donate. Pick a rescue. Cats, dogs, bunnies, birds, you name it. We're all drowning and need help.

Cookie's home. πππ She's sitting up. π She's on the mend but a long way to go. Thank you to everyone who prayed, donated to her and cheered us all on this past week. We're furrever grateful! π©·ππ½π½π½π½π½π½π½π
Cookie eating her first meal at home last night. She's so skinny and frail but she home and on her way to a full recovery. π
Thanks so much everyone!! We appreciate you!! ππ½π
OMG!! I set Cookie down just inside the house and she started meowing when she saw three of her kitty brothers. πππ She had never meowed before! It took us a second to realize the time meow was coming from her and not one of the others with a new voice when greeting her. π±πππ She wanted out but she's on crate rest for me next few weeks. She still skin and bones and only 3.5 lbs. She's very frail. But she's alive and home. We're so grateful for everyone's support and especially to the amazing Dr.Hayes and staff at Inspirada Animal Hospital. It's a delicate dance when an animal is as bad off as Cookie was. It's truly a miracle that she's alive and home. 84 days lost and not knowing how to take care of herself. This is why we saved her to begin with as a BEYOND cross-eyed baby. And why it's so critical that people stop dumping cats that have never seen the light of day outside and don't know how to survive. Even when they can see. This is why we do the hardest job, rescue. Winter is here and about to get extremely cold at night. It was 47 degrees the morning Cookie was found. Her body temperature had dropped to 97.5 by the time we got her to the vet at 11 am last Monday. Starving and body temps low kill cats and kittens that don't ask to be born into a life of suffering. Cookies home but so many others aren't. We try to save as many as we can but we can't do it without help. Full speed ahead on getting the word out and finding help for the others outside.
TYTYTY for caring and helping us help the voiceless. And our baby Cookie. ππ½π½π½π½π½π½π½π½π½π
We still need donations of all kinds. Daily.

Kittens America and Brooklyn Road are ready! Are you?!
Nothinbutloverescue.org π
Kitten siblings America (female all black medium haired) and Brooklyn Road (male brown Maine Coon) are looking for a home for the holidays. They are approximately 6 months old. They're fully vetted, microchipped, kitty friendly and would love to go to a home where they can continue to blossom. Saved from a backyard in Green Valley as babies they've been fostered with kids but they're shy until they get to know you. They can go to a family with older kids. They LOVE to play as you can see here. Their adoption fee is discounted for the pair as we need someone to help get them over the hump of being picked up more easily. We just don't have enough hands (fosters) but these are the lucky ones that didn't have to be returned outside. π

Our Odie and Cookie at the vet tonight. π₯Ήπ₯² Brother and sister from different pawrents. Odie is our rescue ambassador. We saved him about 6 years ago. Someone had intentionally cut his tail off. It was gruesome. According to where he was saved from on New Year's Day, I believe 2018? He had been outside suffering extreme pain for at least 4 months. With an open wound. People are evil. He's the sweetest boy. It took almost a year to heal with sooo many trips to the vet for new bandages +++ He eventually grew a little nub. If you didn't see our other post about him at the vet tonight, he Is in need of his third and final stomatitis dental. He is reverse sneezing and blowing snot everywhere. πΏπ€§π€’π° Every time he gets his antibiotics and gets better 2 weeks later so he can get his dental. Somebody else jumps in front of him with an emergency. We're hoping that it's finally going to be his turn in 2 weeks. Right now he just has to get better, too. Him and Cookie. Never a dull moment over here. ALWAYS something.
Cookie really wanted to hop out of her blanket when she saw and smelled him. That's a great sign! She looks even better tonight and I was able to hold and feed her her dinner. ππ₯³πππ HUGE!!
THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR CONTINUED PRAYERS!!! It really looks promising for her to come home. Of course she won't get to be with Odie yet. She's very fragile. π Still only 3.5 lbs. Baby steps.
Check this out!!! πππ₯³
Cookie ate her 1 oz dinner while I held her tonight. πππ She licked the bowl clean! She looks even better tonight!! She wanted to get out of her bundle and even licked the excess food off of her blanket. Her appetite is back! Baby steps though so she continues to improve and not go backwards. π
See our other two posts from tonight, too! π ...
Thank you from the bottom of our kitty hearts for the continued prayers and donations!! ππ½π½π½π½π½π
Cookie gave Dr.Hayes an Eskimo kiss when I handed her back off last night. Sooo sweet. We can't thank her enough for her expertise and tender loving care of our tiny girl. She's still 3.5 lbs. We hope she keeps eating and getting stronger and will start to gain her weight back next week. Baby steps. She's going to have a large bill when all is said and done. Her mouth is a wreck but that's to be addressed next year long after she is healed and home for a long while. We just need to get her home. Hopefully early next week if she keeps this up. ππ
Last night π So much better!!! πππ
Thanks so much for the prayers and donations!! πππ€
She's eating on her own again!! Just a few bites but she's eating!! ππππ€©ππ₯³π
TYTYTY Dr Hayes!!! Ohhh happy day!!! π
If she keeps this up we're hoping she can come home on Monday. ππππ Thank you for all of the prayers for our baby Cookie. π©·
Going to see her tonight. π₯°
A few hours ago. π₯Ή
I look terrible. ππ Our baby Cookie looks a lot better tonight than she did yesterday. And she looks nothing like she did when she escaped our home accidentally 88 days ago. π
Today was day 4 hospitalized. It's truly a miracle that she was found on Monday. She absolutely wouldn't have survived one more night with temperatures now in the 40s. π
Earlier tonight, as I held her for about 30 minutes, I played songs on my phone while rocking her. I googled Country Music. It started with Morgan Wallace's "In Case You Didn't Know". Love! π And appropriate. Next up was one of my all time favorites Brooks & Dunn's "Neon Moon". Then up was possibly 'my favorite' song Nightbirde's "It's ok" which I played over and over when I was diagnosed with early breast cancer in Feb 2022. And then we ended with Pink's Glitter in the Sun". Another favorite which I walked out of the church to when Michael and I got married 10-10-10.
I'm not 100% sure because she had her battery operated π beat thumping and I was trying to keep it together and my arms were hurting holding and rocking her, but I think she purred for the first time on sing 3. And that would be the first time purring ever.
In her 8 years of life, I'd never held or even pet her until two days ago. I'd only touched her tail for about 2 seconds 5 years ago. In rescue, it's not about petting every single cat, even your own. It's about saving them and in turn they save you.
I'd love to snuggle every single one and up close on my face, but in rescue, that doesn't happen probably 50% of the time. In a town of countless cats and kittens suffering senselessly, 24/7, I help as many as I can and pray they all are safe and loved and not suffering any longer especially after all we do to save them and get them adopted. There's just too many now.
When we saved our sweet baby Cookie as a 3.5 mo old kitten, I never imagined I'd keep her. We noticed that she couldn't see her paw in front of her
