Hi! My name is Scuttle! Some folks like to call me Scuttle Bug because it sounds a lot like love bug, which I absolutely am. Weighing in at just over 60 lbs, I'm a handsome Black Lab mix who loves to have a good time.
So, here's the scoop: I was picked up as a stray after someone reported seeing a dog (yours truly) jumping in and out of the river near the Newburgh Dam. Needless to say, I have a thing for water—okay, maybe more than a thing, I LOVE water!
The shelter staff thinks I'm about 6 years old. I've definitely outgrown the puppy phase, but I still have plenty of energy for adventures. I do get a bit scared in the shelter, though. It's noisy, and walking through the kennel runs can be intimidating. But once you get me outside, I warm right up and show off my sweet, playful side.
I'm just a big, lovable goofball looking for my forever home. If you're someone who enjoys water as much as I do and wants a loyal companion to splash around with, then I'm your guy! Let's make some waves together!
