Friends of City of Henderson Animal Control Serving Henderson, Tn. This is a "kill" shelter that has not euthanized since 2012. This shelter is ran by one person along with a few volunteers.

There are only 5 kennels (runs) here. This shelter only accommodates dogs at this time. Also, we only deal inside the city limits.

This handsome boy was found as a stray, he’s still growing but he is willing to please and ready to learn some manners ❤️🐾

Luke reallly needs to be out of the shelter ASAP, as no dog deserves to grow up in a kennel. He shares a kennel with another dog and they do well together. Everyone that meets him, adores him! I mean how could you resist that pitiful face???💔

GOOD TUESDAY MORNING EVERYONE!!! Do you know which Tuesday Morning it is though? It's GIVING TUESDAY! We have some of the BEST SUPPORTERS possible and we are BEYOND GRATEFUL for all your help. We are working hard to be sure each and every dog is fully vetted before adoption. As you may remember Walker, Argo and Rosie were all HW Positive and required meds to begin the slow kill method, so they had extra expenses. If anyone has an extra dollar or two and would like to donate...Chester County Animal Hospital will gladly take direct donations or those called in per phone at 731 989 2418, our PayPal is working and Tractor Supply will gladly let you leave donations with them for Shelter pick up. He and his brother came in together but since we have separated them to try to gain their independence. Morris is young, his tail is docked, he’s a calmer boy and does well with other dogs and kids ❤️🐾

A HUGE SHOUTOUT OF GRATITUDE to Natalie, Cecilia, Sarah, Peighton, Bella, Paige and Taytum not only for getting the shelter residents fed a delicious Thanksgiving meal, but for the time and effort put forth in preparing it! We are truly BLESSED with some AMAZING SUPPORTERS who show up and show out with their generosity! THANK YOU to each and EVERYONE of you....those who donate, those who volunteer, those who share our posts and those who pray for our precious charges! And we are BEYOND excited for Argo, Rosie and Jazmine.....they are most likely spending their first Holiday season in their own homes with loving family....there simply are NO WORDS to adequately describe what it's meant to each of us, we've prayed and cried for each and every dog. Our tears now are happy ones!! We are praying that Costello is well on his path to being HOME for the Holidays! *******ADOPTION ALERT******* Kassie now has a loving home and family of her own! She has a big Sister, Lady, who happens to be a Shelter Alumni and a cat brother who thinks he can tolerate another canine Sis! It was pure joy watching Kassie and Lady play at the Dog Park this morning! Congratulations Kassie....you hit the Doggie Lottery! Live BIG!!!

FRIDAY NIGHT'S FEATURED VIDEO.....starring Kassie and Charlie. Both are less than a year old, playful and loving. Kassie is the smaller of the 2 and is female. Charlie is all boy! PLEASE SHARE SHARE SHARE.....it only takes a second and it could be THE difference in them finding a living family of their own!!

As promised and for your viewing pleasure, we'd like to introduce Freckles and Tip. We believe you will be able to identify who's who. They came in together, NO idea whether they've always been together. Tip looks to be between 6 and 9 months old and most likely a pit-lab mix. Freckles is most likely around 4 months old and possibly has some bird dog background or heeler. They've both been really good boys and have come to love a peanut butter filled tusk or hoof. If interested in meeting either of these guys and regular shelter hours aren't convenient, message this page and we'll try to arrange a good time to meet! As always, PLEASE SHARE SHARE SHARE!!!!
