Congratulations to Ava on making her best performance to date in the WT 13-14 year old equitation FINALS!!! To see her joy coming out of the arena was what makes the hard work and long days so worth it.

Each of the four Anderson Stables girls rode their hearts out and exhibited great horsemanship, sportsmanship, and teamwork. They know I preach that the ribbon sometimes doesn’t match the quality of the ride and the only person whose opinion matters is me, so they were surprised to hear it with such good competition in the ring this week. But I couldn’t be more proud of these kids and all of the family and friends who support them. There are so many life lessons to be learned in this sport and so many lifelong friendships formed.

I also want to highlight Ava’s equine partner, Bernie. Last year at this time he was fighting for his life after being pulled from the auction pipeline. He has battled through so much, but he has truly found his purpose in carrying his students into the show ring whether it be in road horse under saddle or academy WT. He loves the thrill and now has to be held back from entering the arena a class too early because he just can’t wait! Thank you to for giving so much of your heart and time to Big Bern and Tracy Reif for rescuing this handsome, goofy guy. Tonight he got to go celebrate a job well done outside!

Anderson Stables wrapped up Saturday at Academy Nationals with the parade of barns! Earlier in the day qualified for her WT Eq final tomorrow! Aura once again stepped it up another level to finish top ten in her Eq championship and put on a strong performance in showmanship. Once again, the whole team showed up in full force to support!

It’s been a whirlwind at Academy Nationals but even more reason to shoutout the incredible riders and team behind getting them in the ring! Penny & AJ had two of their best rides ever last night to finish just below qualifying for championships. The ribbons didn’t match their picture perfect rides. Penny continually proves that she thrives under the pressure of competition.

Ava & the Bern came in strong for an 8th place and qualifying finish in their eq class. Ava held nothing back either class, guiding Bernie around the ring smartly and living up to his name Turn N’ Bern! Her confidence and strength in the saddle has blossomed since summer.

Next up were Aura & AJ who qualified for both their championships with sixth and fifth place ribbons. Aura who is always calm and confident pushed AJ to step up to the speed and intensity of nationals. Aura put on a clinic in ring placement, having her own area code most of the classes. She’ll be digging in even harder to work for a spot in the finals tomorrow afternoon!

Tess & Bernie lit up the ring in both their competitive classes. Although the ribbons didn’t reflect their flawless rides, Tess made Bern look like he’s been doing this for years. She has a way of supporting her partner with the poise of someone twice her age. She is our team cheerleader so having everyone there to pick her up after her great performances meant so much.

This is the first trip to Nationals for all four of these girls! They have handled the stress and chaos so gracefully. But the best part is seeing their support of each other. They have fabulous role models in the women of the barn who have constantly shown up for me (and us ). .mckellar and helped get everyone and each horse expertly prepared. They were on the rail cheering. And here after the show to help get things wrapped up. and are holding down the fort at the farm so we can be here which is no easy task. This family/village is the true prize in this sport. Even better is that it transcends age.

Thank you all who make this happen💕 although thank you will never be enough.

✨Meet the Academy Nationals Team!✨

Penny & Abalone will make their Nationals’ debut in the WTC 12-13 classes.

Ava & Turn N’ Bern will both hit the Tennessee Miller Coliseum for the first time in the WT 13-14 classes.

Aura Koenig & Abalone will take on the WT 11-12 year old division in their first trip to Nationals.

And rounding out our team is Tess & Turn N’ Bern will make their mark in the WT 9-10 division.

These girls have worked so hard to build a partnership with their horses and improve their skills. Each of these riders have put in countless hours and it’s a privilege to put them in the ring! Can’t wait to see them shine!🌟

Starting the search for a weanling friend for our solo filly from this year. Saddlebred, Morgan, standardbred, or the like is preferred but not necessary. Something that might not turn out to be your fancy show horse or is a bad spot (we are following rescues too). Would have a great home and start as they grow.
