It is the most beautiful time of year up here on our mountain. Come soak it in with us. 🍂
We’ve taken two trailer loads to the Black Mountain Home for Children so far, and we are blown away by the generosity we have seen! Visitors from near and far have stepped up to the plate to meet needs in the wake of Hurricane Helene. At this time, many of their physical needs have been met (🙌🏻), and financial gifts are the greatest help moving forward. Cash donations are being collected here at the farm, or can be made by visiting their website directly at www.BlackMountainHome.org - Thank your for stepping up to make a difference during this difficult time!
Field Trips
We love our field trips!
With wagon rides, a cider press demonstration, apple picking and more, our hope is that our field trippers leave with a deeper understanding of the impact farming has on our lives, and all that goes into it!
Our field trips fill up fast! If you want to book a field trip for the 2025 season, please visit our website and join our mailing list. Each spring an email is sent out to our subscribers with an opportunity to sign your group up, and groups claim spots on a first come first serve basis.
Special thanks to @dallasstreet83 for sharing a glimpse of your groups’ experience with us!
Don’t let the magic of summer u-pick season slip through your fingers! It’s the last weekend of u-pick blackberries and peaches - take home some sweet summer memories. 🍑 🎥: @dallasstreet83 #upickapples #applefarm #upick #wnc #familyfun #blackberries
We call it the “Big Flip.” Hosting special events in the off season means u-pick setup starts from zero each year. From an empty room, to a curated gift shop; bare patio to a picnic table paradise - and don’t even get us started on all the signs… We’ve had a busy two weeks, and we are almost ready for you! 🍎
Use our website to plan your visit with us! Search our harvest calendar by the month of your visit, type of fruit, and your intended use to find what fruit you’d like to u-pick while you’re here! We do our best to outline the approximate time our fruits will be ready to harvest each season, but thanks to Mother Nature, there is some wiggle room a few weeks in either direction. Always be sure to check back the week of your visit to see exactly what we will be picking at the time you are with us. 🍎
Pruning has officially begun! Every year each of our 5,500 trees have to be pruned by hand, and with each tree requiring up to 500 snips, it adds up to a lot of work!
Pruning is very important for the health of our apple and peach trees, and promotes the following benefits:
🍎 Develops good limb structure for strength
🍎 Increases fruit production
🍎 Improves fruit size and quality
🍎 Encourages a plentiful supply of new limbs
🍎 Rids the tree of damaged or diseased growth
🍎 Improves air circulation within the tree
🍎 Reduces potential for disease
🍎 Promotes the general health of the tree
Fall at the Farm
What makes fall at the farm even sweeter than it already is? When it starts to really LOOK like fall. 🍂
Soak in the beauty with us for our last two weekends.
Open Thursday + Friday 10-3
Saturday + Sunday 10-5 (purchase basket before 3:30 to u-pick!)
Last open day of the season is October 29
Ever wonder where our fresh cider comes from? It’s pressed fresh and bottled right here! The journey from field to table is not very far here at the farm. 🍎
U-pick apples start this weekend! 🍎
Head to the farm for fun the whole family can enjoy! From u-pick and wagon rides, to live bluegrass and hard cider - making memories at Jeter Mountain Farm will be your favorite fall tradition.
Open Saturday and Sunday from 10-5. The last wagon for u-pick leaves for the field at 3:30. 🍎
U-pick flower weekends are winding down 🌺 Don’t miss your chance to pick flowers in our 2-acre mountaintop flower field!
U-pick is available Saturdays and Sundays from 10-5, though you need to arrive by 3:30 to catch the last wagon to the field. Always be sure to check our website to see what u-pick is available each week.
We believe everyone should have access to a wagon ride and u-pick at the farm, and have been dreaming of having a wheelchair lift on one of our wagons since we opened in 2020.
We are absolutely thrilled to be able to debut a lift this year, and hope it opens doors for all to be able to participate in making memories together this fall. 🍎
