This guy might look like an alien but is actually a golden sea cucumber!
Sea cucumbers spend their day sifting through your substrate and consuming all those organics, unwanted diatoms and slime algae spores that grow in your sand. These coating type of cyano bacteria and diatoms will suffocate your substrate and lead to diminished beneficial bacteria layer growth in your reef aquarium, which in turn can lead to water quality deterioration.
Sea cucumbers act as a natural "vacuum cleaner" and play a vital role in your "clean-up crew" within your reef tank.

🚨‼️Fish spotlight of the day‼️🚨
Panther grouper
(Cromileptes altivelis)

Native to the Indo-Pacific region, this grouper inhabits coral reefs and rocky areas. The panther grouper is considered hardy but may be quite shy when first introduced to the tank.
As they grow they will become bolder but for the most part will leave other similarly sized fish alone, including other Panther Groupers. Smaller fish and inverts may be on their menu though. They will leave the corals alone but given that many keep inverts in their reef tanks it would not be considered reef safe.
This Grouper can get to be about 27 inches when fully grown and they eat like it's going out of style.
The Panther Grouper, with its striking black and white polka-dot pattern and robust size, makes a captivating centerpiece in any large predator saltwater tank.

Care Level: Easy
Temperament: Aggressive
Diet: Carnivore
Reef Safe: No
Minimum Tank Size: 200+ Gallons

Target or Spotted Mandarin (Synchiropus picturatus)

Spotted Mandarins are native to the Western Pacific Ocean, particularly the waters of Indonesia and the Philippines. These fish inhabit shallow coastal reefs, lagoons, and other areas with a wealth of live rock structures, sandy substrate, and various coral species.
Spotted Mandarins are considered reef-safe. They have a minimal impact on corals and invertebrates, which makes them an excellent choice for reef aquariums. Their presence can even contribute positively by helping control the population of small crustaceans and unwanted pests like flatworms.
Spotted Mandarins when kept as a mating pair are extremely likely to breed in captivity and have been known to spawn 50 or more eggs at a time. Adult males will have a large pronounced pointed dorsal fin while females will have a smaller rounder dorsal fin.
