Sweet Puff finished his first 6 weeks of private training with flying colors! He is such a smart little dog. He and his owners are a pleasure at work with. Can’t wait to see what he’s gonna do next!

My name is Kate thompson and this is my Doberman, Loki.

I have always loved animals and animal behavior from the time I was a little kid. I grew up next to my grandparents 85 acre farm; and from a young age I was out with the cattle trying to tame calves by feeding them mini wheats and watching and studying the behavior of the cattle within the herd.
As I got older, I bought Boer goats to raise and show through 4-h. So my middle and High school years were spent learning the behavior of goats, as well as my two Great Pyrenees, livestock guardian dogs. Believe it or not, you have to train the goats how to walk on a leash and stand in the show ring.
Dog training has always interested me, and I spent lots of hours reaching dog behavior. After high school; I got a job as a dog training apprentice. That is where I first met and was mentored through a training program by Ian. I attribute my success in dog training to Ian and his ongoing mentorship.
After passing my Training final, I trained for about 2 years. Once I left that corporation, I started to work part time as a vet tech. As well as for Set Free Dog Training.
I am very honored and excited to be a part of the Set Free Dog Training Team. I am a firm believer that not only does getting your dog trained, teach them how to have good manners, but it also helps to strengthen the bond between you and furry companion. Dog training takes confidence in yourself as well as in your dog. I love watching both clients and dogs grow in confidence, as well as in skill sets, which will help them over come the challenges of every day life together! A happy dog is a free dog! And the first step to a free dog comes with working with me at Set Free Dog Training! I look forward to working with you and your furry best friend!
