Unfortunately, we had a waterline break over the weekend and experienced flooding… Again 😮‍💨 Fortunately, the damage is nowhere near as extensive as last time. The clinic will be closed today Monday, March 18 through Thursday, March 21 for Servpro to dry it out. Here at Indian Lake Animal Clinic, 2023 was a year filled with many challenges and triumphs. Rebuilding from our flood damage while still trying to provide care for our patients and employees was difficult, but very rewarding. We’re grateful to have that experience in our past, and to have had the wonderful support of our ILAC family throughout.

In moving forward, we have analyzed our schedule in combination with market trends and staff-work life balance and have decided to make some changes.

As of February 1, we will extend Wednesday hours and open our surgery scheduled for five days a week. In exchange, we will be closing on Saturdays.

Tuesday 8:00 am – 5:00 pm
Wednesday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm
Thursday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm

Friends, we are experiencing a power outage like most of Hendersonville. It's unlikely to be fixed quickly, and we can't function safely without power.

Our plan is to make a judgment call each morning by 7:00 am as to whether we can be open or not. We will update the message on our voicemail each day, so please call before leaving your house to be certain we are there.

Please know that as soon as we are able to be there to help your pets, we will be. We hope all of you were able to stay safe, and we are keeping our hearts focused on helping those in need in our community.

An update, friends - we have more illness, some of which is COVID. For this reason, we've made the difficult decision to choose down until the Tuesday after Labor Day, September 5th.

Our decision is made to protect each other and to protect you - we don't want to spread any illness to you, each other, or to family members who may be more vulnerable.

You may leave messages on the clinic phone (615-824-6700) for prescription refills. It will be checked a minimum of once every 48 hours, and we will call with instructions about how to pick up medications. Please do not leave messages asking for callbacks on medical issues or to make appointments.

ILAC family - we need a favor 🙂 This cutie was turned into us as a stray. She was microchipped, and we were able to trace her and find out that she was adopted from Nashville Humane Society, then given away, then abandoned 😥

Nashville Humane is willing and ready to take her back in, but we need transport and have a full schedule today for our staff. Is there anyone out there who could drive her to Nashville Humane this morning? They need us to be there before noon if she's coming today.

Any help would be much appreciated!!

ILAC family,

It's been a little over a month since we began seeing patients on our current Monday-Wednesday (8:00-5:00pm) schedule. Because of your patience and understanding we feel it is going well, but we are looking forward to seeing you all back in the clinic full-time soon!

Construction is moving forward but with any job of this size, there will be hiccups and delays. We do not have a confirmed re-opening date at this time.

We continue operating CURBSIDE ONLY until construction is done. Exceptions are made in certain situations, such as end of life services, so our clients are able to be with their precious pets.

For emergency medication refills, text (615) 854-7968. Provide your name, pet's name and the medication requested. This line will be monitored Thursday-Saturday only.

WELCOME!!

We can't stop smiling! We are so grateful to be open and able to see those smiling, fluffy faces again.

Our temporary construction hours are Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday, 8:00am to 5:00 pm.

Please remember we are providing curbside only service for now, as our building still needs a lot of work to be presentable. When you arrive, stay in your car and call 615-824-6700 to check in. If you receive our voicemail, please hang up and call again - as we expect heavy call volume and may not be able to check messages in a timely fashion.

For now, we are unable to take x-rays or hospitalize patients, but can provide all other services.

REOPENING NEWS!

ILAC family, we are so happy to announce that starting Monday, February 20th, we will finally be able to see patients again!

Construction is still happening, so we've come up with a compromise to be able provide some services now.
For now, we will be open on the following schedule:

Mondays, Tuesdays, and Wednesdays 8:00 am to 5:00 pm

Thursdays through Sundays CLOSED for construction.

We will be operating CURBSIDE ONLY until construction is done. This allows us to open sooner, without waiting for the building to look fully presentable. When you arrive for appointments, please call from your car to check in. (615-824-6700).

Some services will not be available at all times, such as X-ray capability. In those times we will refer to other local clinics as their schedule allows to have those diagnostics done.

We hope to resume surgeries by the 27th, and will work very hard to catch up on all the care you need in a timely fashion.

We ask that you be patient and gentle with us during this transition phase - we're eager to get back to our passion to help our patients and clients, yet we might face challenges that we haven't predicted that will slow us down.

As of today, we remain temporarily closed due to flood damage. Reconstruction has begun and work orders are pending to complete our phone line installation, as well as our computers. We will do our best to keep you informed of our progress. Things are moving in a positive direction, but our projected date to re-open is still to be determined.

ILAC family,

I wanted to update you on our progress. Serv Pro has been working non-stop but still has quite a way to go in their water extraction and mold prevention services. At this point we still do not have a reopen date, but will continue to send updates as they occur.

We can now, however, answer requests for urgent medication refills and records when needed. We have set up a temporary line that you may text, which is being monitored and will get a response within 24 hours during the week.

We will be having water extraction services at the clinic starting Sunday, January 8th. We will not have access to the building or our medical records during their process, which will likely take days. As a result, we won't be able to get our phone messages or provide refills after 11am on Saturday, January 7th.

Once they are finished and we are able to move equipment back into the clinic, we will be better able to project a reopening date. We are so very sorry for the continued inconvenience and cannot wait to see our ILAC family again!

Update on clinic repairs:

In a word, slow.

Due to all the other people in the same boat as us (ruptured pipes, flooded buildings) the services we need to reopen are just not available promptly. At this moment, it looks like we may be closed another full week, waiting for the plumbing and phone lines to be repaired. The professional drying out is necessary, too, and those services are under tremendous strain in our area following last week's extreme weather. Even our website services have been inaccessible to us over the holiday week, so we cannot put a notice of our situation on it.

My staff had been incredible at diving into cleanup, and in trying to provide responses to those clients texting our temporary number for medication refills. (See previous post). I'm so grateful for them all.

And you - our ILAC family of clients - have been wonderful, caring, and understanding of our stressful situation. It breaks our hearts to not be available to help pets during this time, and your love and support has meant everything to us. Thank you, thank you, thank you!

We are doing, and will continue to do everything possible to reopen as soon as it's safe to do so. I will continue to give updates as we get them.

The recent low temperatures resulted in burst water pipes in our ceiling and significant water damage to the clinic on Christmas Eve. Thankfully no animals or people were injured - our clinic cats are confused but happy and healthy.

Sadly, however, we cannot reopen until the clinic is dried out and the plumbing is repaired. As you may imagine, all workers in these areas are overwhelmed right now, so we do not have a reopen date yet. We will keep you all informed as soon as we have estimated times from the professionals.

In addition, our phone lines are now completely dead with the water damage. If you call the clinic, you will get a generic message saying we are busy and asking you to call back - but we didn't create that message, cannot change it yet, and cannot make the system take messages. We hope to have this corrected quickly as well.

We are so very sorry for the inconvenience, and are doing our very best to get back to functioning quickly. If you have veterinary needs that cannot wait, please try other local clinics - who may be able to get you in as their schedule allows - or Nashville Veterinary Specialists (615-386-0107) or Blue Pearl Franklin (615-333-1212).
