Today’s been a good day for Piccolo!

He hasn’t wanted to work for his food for me. This means if I just give him a piece of his kibble he eats it, but if I try and get him to follow it as a lure he says “eh not worth it”. Well I found that he likes shredded cheese, so when I try and get him to lure with the cheese it’s worth it for him! So that means we’ve been able to start obedience training!

He also went potty outside for the first time today! For some reason since he’s gotten here he has refused to potty outside - so has had multiple accidents inside. I’m so happy he went potty outside!

So far we have lured sit, down and place! I’m excited to see how his training continues to progress. Also it has to be noted…green is definitely his color!😍😍

RKDT pups are staying cool by hanging out in the shade and only going outside for SHORT relatively calm socials. I’m using commands like “enough”, “out”, and “settle” to allow the pups have some outside time without over overexerting themselves! It’s currently 95° out with the “Feels like” at 101°
Y’all stay inside as much as you can and drink lots of water!

Remember Piccolo? He did Puppy Program with me back in July 2024! This cutie is back for his Board & Train!

Unfortunately this little guy broke his leg not long after he graduated from Puppy Program and that derailed his training. Since he’s gone back to jumping on things and people, pulling on leash and he has become very reactive on walks. Reactive to the point where he is standing on his back legs barking and growling!

I’m very excited to be working with him again, I can’t wait to help him be on the best version of himself!

Thank you to everyone who has signed up this year! I’ve already gotten so many amazing dogs this year. I can’t wait to meet everybody else on the waitlist this year!

I am currently working on my schedule for 2026 and I will post that as soon as it’s available. Of course, in the meantime, you’re always welcome to call and leave a voicemail for a free over the phone consultation and I can let you know what my schedule looking like in the new year… As of right now we only have one opening for January 😉

THIS IS DENALI …. an Australian Cattle dog mix that was last seen on 6/13 at the Ruff Canine Dog Club in Richmond where he escaped. Denali has a special diet and is on meds - so he needs to be back with his family as soon as possible. This pup is scared and skittish, so use caution when approaching. If you see Denali, please call 804-420-2362.

Meet Oakley!

This cutie had her first Puppy Program lesson today! Her family has been doing a great job with her so far. Today we talked about a few minor tweaks we can make to her schedule and we did some food luring with her. We talked about ways to stop puppy biting and jumping as well because she’s got sharp teeth and nails!

Oakley is a super sweet and smart pup, I’m looking forward to working with her and her family!

Dip & Dot Graduated from training today!

Today we went on a field trip to Lowe’s and a field trip to their house and they did AMAZING! I am so proud of the progress they have made. I know they are going to continue to do great things at home!

All of the neighbors know and love Dip and Dot. Prior to training they would jump on the neighbors, but today they politely greeted them without jumping! It was so cool to see that even the neighbors were impressed with the progress they have made already!
