Meet Cider! This cutie started Puppy Program today!
🐾
She’s doing Puppy Program a bit different- she is currently undergoing treatment for Giardia so she can’t come for in person lessons so she is doing virtual lessons until she’s cleared! Today we talked a lot about Ciders schedule and potty training. Her mom is already doing a lot of great things with her so we’re working on building off of that. I’m looking forward to working with them and can’t wait to hear how their homework for the week goes!

The Board & Train pups are doing great! Here’s a quick update on everyone -

Saby has made great progress today! Over the past few days we have been working on luring for sit and down. Sit is easy for her….down has been quite the challenge. Today she made a breakthrough with down! She can lure into a down every time, and she can respond to leash pressure down almost every time! So we’re going to do another lesson or so of really focusing on that, then dive into the rest of her commands.

Naeva is rocking it with all of her commands. Since she has been through a few trainers before this isn’t new to her. What’s new to her is leash pressure, so not pulling on the prong and responding to directional pressure to sit/down. Even though it’s new she’s a quick study and she’s doing great! Today we also spent some time playing some muzzle games and kennel games. Since Naeva will be muzzle around the other dogs I want her to be as comfortable in the muzzle as possible. So we’re just taking a little time with that and she’s doing great (she’s worn it before). We also did some kennel games since she has some kennel anxiety. We just practice going in and out of the kennel and making it fun!

Atticus is loving training! His tail is just going so fast the entire lesson! He has 7 of his 10 obedience commands named so far. The other four aren’t named yet just because we don’t usually start those until end of the first week. He’ll start ecollar work tomorrow and I can already tell he’s going to catch on quickly!

Willow had her last Puppy Program session today!

It has been so great working with her and her mom throughout the duration of this course. They are both so sweet and I know we’ll do great things! Today we just reviewed all of their homework and different things to help continue to set Willow up for success!

Meet Naeva!
🐾
Naeva is almost 4 years old and she’s just got here for her Board & Train! Shes the housemate of Saby who I just posted. She has been through numerous trainers before but she is just very uncomfortable around other dogs. Most of the time she coexists with her housemate but they have gotten into some nasty fights before. The fighting between her and her housemates just leave everyone on edge.

On walks when she passes other dogs she mainly responds how they do. If they are calm she will be relatively calm but will try and hurry past them. If they are reactive she will be reactive back. She has only ever gotten into fights with Saby before because once she started fighting with Saby she wasn’t let around many other dogs as a safety precaution. Other trainers have had her with dogs (muzzled) and she was fine but stiff and uncomfortable.

Finally Miss Naeva has some Separation Anxiety/ Kennel anxiety. She has broken out of a wire kennel before so she has a Ruffland kennel with her that she does fine in….but she drools. She drools a lot… a lot a lot! So while she’s here, the training will help with her anxiety and we will also do some kennel specific games with her to try and help with that!

I can already tell she’s super sweet and so smart. I’m looking forward to working with her and seeing what progress we can make with her relationship towards Saby and other dogs!

Meet Saby!

This cutie just got here for her Board & Train! She’s almost 9 years old and she’s going to help me show y’all it’s (almost) never too late to train! Shes never had any formal training before, she’s a super chill dog and doesn’t have many issues.

The biggest issue for her is that her and her housemate get into fights. They each take turns starting the fights but since she’s the smaller of the two she usually is the one who gets injured. They typically do a fine job coexisting in their house together. The fights aren’t always over a clear trigger but mostly seems to be over a resource. Since I have some management techniques a few months ago they haven’t had a fight since!

Trianing is going to be really beneficial for these two because it’s going to allow us to create clear boundaries of what behaviors are and are not acceptable. It will also help address some of the more deeply rooted issues like the resource aggression. I am really looking forward to seeing Saby and her housemate grow in their relationship!

Remember Atticus? He did Puppy Program with me April 2024 and now he’s back for his Board & Train!
🐾
Atticus is 10 months old, he’s so smart and loves to work! Goals for him would be loose leash walking. This will be great because he will learn a formal “heel” command and he will also learn even when he isn’t in a command he isn’t allowed to pull. In addition to this his Mom would like him to be able to have what I call an “off switch” so he can just relax and be calm when the family is hanging out together. Finally his Mom is very excited for him to get some socialization with the other dogs here!

I really enjoyed working with Atticus during Puppy Program so I know it’s going to be a blast having him back for his Board & Train!

Bruno Update!
🐾
He is doing great and living life in his new home! His family has been doing a great job implementing his training into every day life and setting him up for success. Moving from my quiet neighborhood to the city has been an adjustment for him but with his training his parents have been able to help him get used to his new environment!

Bruno is thriving in his new home and that makes me so happy! He has loved playing with toys, cuddle time and naps at his new house. His world went from a shelter, to my house, to now he’s living it up in a home of his own where he gets to go in multiple walks and adventures everyday! He’s such a good dog who’s been waiting a long time and now he’s got the perfect family! 💜

Our program is now a FOUR WEEK Board & Train!
This will allow the dogs to have three full weeks of training before beginning their “Graduation Lessons” with their owners on the fourth and final week of training. Our previous program was designed as a three week program, but with graduation lessons taking up the whole last week we really had to train everyone in two weeks which isn’t doable for every dog! I’m so excited to have this extra week with the pups so we can spend more time practicing their commands before they get to show off for their family!

About our program:
▫️This is a Four Week Board & Train done out of my HOME! Get all the benefits of a Board & Train, while your dog has all the comforts of being in my home!
▫️Your dog will learn 10 obedience commands as well as basic manners such as, not pulling on leash, no barking, no jumping etc
▫️Your dog will also get socialization with fully trained, well balanced dogs which ensures all your dogs interactions with other dogs are a safe and positive experience
▫️In addition to basic obedience, we also specialize in BEHAVIOR MODIFICATION! We have had countless success working with cases of Separation Anxiety, Reactivity, Aggression and more! *Be sure you discuss any and all behavior modification needs with your trainer prior to signing up*

▪️Three weeks of Training
▪️The last week will be your “Graduation Week”. During this time your dog will remain in boarding, and will get continued practice with their training. While you get private, personalized lessons to teach you everything your dog has learned! During this week you will see your dog and practice their training with them.
