Alexandra,Summer and I took Gracie ( last photo) and Emmy ( all other pony photos) to the Region III Connemara show this weekend… all had a super fun time. Summer did all the riding, amassing an armful of ribbons…..I saw many old friends, too, which was even better than the ribbons! Emmy is Balmullo’s Celtic Memory (Ard Celtic Art X Balmullo’s Irish Moss [ by Foothills Field Marshall]) and Gracie is Tullymors Gracie Gray ( Tullymors Mountain Shadows X Tullymors Kiss of Sun).

Tullymor’s Gracie Gray spent last weekend at college! Hollins College. She competed in a hunter show ridden by Juliana Guggino. They were the only pony and came in 4th out of 23! Congrats to Juliana and Gracie! Photos taken by Jordan Atwell-Purcell.

This is Martini, Connemara/TB 3 yo, sent by his owner/breeder Judy McDonald. Judy noticed his striking resemblance to half-sister Sunny. She says Martini is “super steady, confident and kind. He is about 15.3… Thank you Bruiser for producing such a great son.”

It was a beautiful day to watch Dixie, Gracie, and Katie school XC at Oakdale Equestrian Center. Charlotte did an especially good job with Katie who tends to be somewhat unpredictable. She got her around all the jumps without a single stop!

Heidi Schaefer sent this photo of Ivy, her 2 1/2 year old mare by Bruiser and out of a Percheron/TB mare. She wanted an eventer and I predict Ivy will be a dynamite one. She will start formal training in the Spring… so far, Heidi says she does everything Heidi wants!

Foothills Field Marshall aka Bruiser continues to produce beautiful, correct, sane, and athletic purebreds and halfbreds. Here are two Connemara/TB’s, Balmullo’s Billy the Kid on the left and Balmullo’s Summer Sunshine on the right. Both will be weaned soon and looking for new zip codes!

Sunny has the zoomies! Summer Sunrise is out of the TB Before Sunrise and by Foothills Field Marshall. She is almost two weeks old.

Balmullo’s Irish Moss ( Foothills Field Marshall X Hillside Emily) going XC at the recent 3-phase at the Florida Horse Park. “Mossie” is owned and ridden by Kristen Clark Sealy. Everyone agreed that Mossie would like some bigger jumps! Before starting her eventing career Mossie had two filly foals by Ard CelticArt.

This little cutie is Rosewood Magic Man, colt by Foothills Field Marshall o/o Lishmar Mysty. Bred and owned by Darien Hall of Windsor, California.

A.K. thought she was going for a trail ride not a swim! Connemaras do it all!!

Alexandra has been working hard making XC jumps for her camp next week which will focus on kids who want to event. Here Summer and Bruiser try out one of the new ones.

This cute little guy is Paradox Gala, grandson of Roary and Emma..... he is by Balmullo's Gallagher o/o Paradox Westerly who is by the Gunsmoke son, Kynynmont Cooper O'Grady. Bred and owned by Sally Oxnard.

It's in the books!! Summer's and Bruiser's first horse trial, the Calais Horse Trials. First after dressage, they were almost perfect in stadium and XC.... just one wee pilot error landed them in second place over-all. But all in all it was a great day and they are rarin' to go next time at a higher level.

He’s going to be such a great jumper!!

Gracie Gray shows the big guys how it’s done at today’s Oakdale Farm’s schooling horse trial…she and rider, Keaton Lamb were first in their division.

Some people thought I should have posted a “better” picture of Summer at her first recognized Horse Trials… So here is her whole stadium course, courtesy of Alexandra Youmans. She is riding a TB mare we got from Nick Cardomone. Her name used to be Yo Adrian aka Ginger but she is now Before Sunrise aka Lucy……we love her! Her last TB mare decided she would rather be a pasture ornament. So she is off being bred to Bruiser!
