Congrats to Paul David Tierney and Tanner Braiden for winning Team Roping in Houston 2nd night in a row. Tanner is riding Hal Take Some Pepto CCL, a gelding we raised and trained through his five year old year. He’s a Halreycious on the top side and out of our mare Peptomint Patti on the bottom side. He’s a half brother to 2022 Riata Buckle Champion That Bold Pepto CCL. Chris showed Hal as a four year old at the American Rope Horse Futurities. Chris sold Hal to long time customer Dave Daube who saw Hal’s potential and sold him to PRCA roper Tanner Braiden. Tanner and Hal have been a great team winning at the professional level with lots of great things to come. Great to see our home raised horse and training program doing big things.
Bo Crutchfield and Chris Littlefield connected on four steers to win $61,000 and the first-ever Riata Buckle Handi-High Futurity.
Riata Buckle #12.5 Futurity Winners Crutchfield and Littlefield are cowboys first and foremost, who roped on horses with day jobs outside.
Today was a big day for our breeding program. Chris and Bo won the 12.5 5 yr old and under and under roping at the First Annual Riata Buckle Roping Futurity. Went in as high team back and finished just under the wire for a first place. They will split $61,000. Chris riding That Bold Pepto by Bold and Beautiful (who is by Seven S Big Valley). Bo riding Big Valleys Ms Haida by Seven S Big Valley. These are genetics Chris has been putting together for four generations of horses. Very awesome to have a platform that can showcase these horses, with great payouts to the ropers, and then also impressive payouts to the breeders and the horses’ owners.
The much anticipated first-ever Riata Buckle roping is going down now! We’ve loaded 9 Bold and Beautiful and Big Valley horses in the trailer and we are ready to rope for the next three days. The open roping alone paid out $400k and payouts are just gonna get bigger and better from there.

That Bold Pepto and Chris put together some nice runs in Stephenville this weekend. They won the Parks’ roping in Childress last night and had a great day today. “Sketch” is a Riata Buckle eligible 5 year old stallion owned by Billy and Lyn Ray in Tesquesquite NM. Sketch is a ranch worker, a remuda stud, an amazing performance horse withy so many cool moves, smarts and big stop. Oh - and a cool dude with a ton of personality.
C’mon Hal and Tanner!!! Made the short go at Cheyenne Frontier Days. This is Hal that we raised (by Halreycious out of our own daughter of Peptoboonsmal, Peptomint Patti) and Chris Littlefield trained through his five year old year and showed at rope horse futurity in fall of 2019. He was phenomenal in foot work and his mind was always on point. Sold him to Dave Daube that soon sold him to Tanner Braden. Tanner and Hal are making a great team. Good luck tomorrow boys!! Murder Hornet, 2-year-old Bold and Beautiful c**t with his owner, Jesi Harvey taking him for a spin in the indoor arena on this wet and soggy day. They both enjoyed the ride. Jesi hasn’t ridden him since we started him several months ago. Fun to watch them reunite and get a little work in.
This day has been a long time in the making. This is Jesi Harvey with her 2-yr-old Murder Hornet. She has been waiting for this day for 2 years! Jesi is the breeding vet at Lazy E Arena in Guthrie, OK. She has access to the finest stud horses walking and her pick for her mares is Bold and Beautiful. She has been at this Colt’s side since he was born and they have a pretty special relationship. Hornet has been in our barn learning the basics for the last several months and he got to show off for Jesi today. They both had smiles on their faces. Hornet is a full brother to our filly Ruby - she’s 6 now and getting into her roping groove big time. Hornet and Jesi have lots of good times to come.

Our buddy Nick Sartain and partner Austin Rogers won Guymon tonight in the team roping on fresh muleys. Nick was heading on a horse, Ribar, Chris trained as a two year old for Deb and Shelby Fraisier. Deb and Shelby barrel raced on him his 3 year old year and brought him back to Chris to put in his rope horse program his 4 year old year. Nick and Mark Miller partnered on him to buy him and Nick has been roping on him. Ribar got the call to step up in Guymon and he filled the spot well ! Congrats to Nick and Austin! And Mark! Nice horse.

We have said it before - but Bold and Beautiful c**ts are so easy to break, wonderful to ride and they just truly LIKE people. Like the kind you trust to ride around with your baby. This is Tex - a six year old B&B gelding that now makes his home near Dillon, MT with Ian and Sonja Austiguey. Ian is a top notch header and loves roping on Tex. Sonja loves to ride him. BIG NEWS for 2022!!! Our stallion, Bold and Beautiful, is one of the elite stallions enrolled in the new Riata Buckle Futurity for rope horses. Launching this year, it will pay out $2 million to ropers riding horses by enrolled stallions. This will create brand new BIG money earning opportunities for ropers with eligible horses.
Only a limited number of stallions will be enrolled and Bold and Beautiful is IN. He is an accomplished rope horse in the arena and a great partner on the ranch, with the kids, and so much more. Merry CHRISTmas everyone!! We had a nice Christmas morning and then Levi headed to the barn. Jesus was born in a barn so that’s a good place to be on Christmas Day. 😊Temps are pushing 90 so Levi wanted to ride several horses. First on the list was our stud Bold and Beautiful. I don’t know who enjoyed the ride more - Levi or B&B!! Their Christmas gift to each other.
Doing a little calf dragging this morning on That Bold Pepto CCL by our stud, Bold and Beautiful. “Sketch” is just four but as honest and solid as they come. Always ready to listen and work hard. He’s a big boy but can do a lot even in a tight spot. He was bred and raised by us. These are the kinds of horses our stud turns out - big b***d, agile, smart and willing - ready to take on whatever the situation brings - in the roping pen, in the branding pen, doctoring wheat pasture cattle, or prowling cattle.
