We just received some sad news of the passing of our sweet Jon-Jon aka Benny. Some may remember his story but I’m going to share it again. Benny was thrown over a fence after being hit with a hammer. The lady that took him in and truly loved him didn’t understand that the weight he was at was very very unhealthy. She would feed him blocks of cheese for a treat. When I got the call and the photos I immediately asked Beth and of course she said absolutely let’s make it happen. Transport jumped into action and when they arrived it was worse than we thought. Benny couldn’t walk and was so heavy they had to use a sheet to put him into a wheelbarrow to just get him to the car. He went to an amazing foster that kept him on a strict diet and took him on many short walks everyday. He had many surgeries and we knew he would most likely need more in his lifetime. Fast forward to his adoption his adoptive family fell in love with him and knew what they were taking on with his possible health issues. Benny lived an amazing life and knew how very much he was loved. This is what forever families and rescue is supposed to look like. We never want to lose them but we know in the end Benny had an amazing life.
Adding photos of his progress and in the last few you can definitely tell how happy he was. The smile says it all. Thank you to Benny’s forever family for taking such good care of him and loving him the way they did. RIP our sweet boy 🐾❤️

When we say we are full it’s not because we don’t want to help. It’s bc we are really full meaning no funds or space. Dropping off animals at our fosters’s homes is not ok. But we will figure it out. So welcome to Goode Life poor little Burrito. But since he definitely wasn’t in our budget this week we could use a little help with his vetting. Every dollar helps. We were asked today help with these 2 pups. The only way we can help is with a foster. We can do foster to adopt so basically you take the pup as soon as we get transported to us. We finalize a little bit of vetting and you sign the adoption paperwork. If interested please submit a foster application at glrescue.org. They are both males dumped on a farm so no idea on the breed. They definitely look like lab mixes but no way of knowing as the finder didn’t see parents. Please share so we can try and help these sweet babies.

Little more info they have seen a vet they are saying beagle/mix about 9 months old and currently 29 lbs.

Meet Bailey she is a 1 year old lap princess. Bailey was owned by an elderly couple that unfortunately couldn’t properly care for her. She will need work on potty training as she was trained to use puppy pads. She will also need a quiet home with a lap of her own to snuggle on. She does not like cats she will growl and continuously bark at them. She has been introduced to small and medium sized dogs with zero issues. She does well with older teenagers but is very scared of young children. We are assuming she is a Chihuahua mix of some sort. If you are interested in meeting Bailey please submit an app at glrescue.org. Please understand she has very specific needs as to what type of home she would be most comfortable in.
