York Creek Red Angus is a family red angus seedstock operation in Northeastern Nebraska, approximately 35 miles north of Omaha. York Creek Red Angus was started in 1997 with the purchase of 11 heifers and a bull from the Petersen Red Angus herd in Purdum, Nebraska. Since then our herd has grown to about 250 head of registered females. We strive to produce tanky, three-dimensional cattle that work
for us, not the other way around. What that means is we expect a female to make a living grazing 300+ days of the year, and to be efficient in their ability to turn low quality feed into flesh. In addition to producing cattle with tremendous phenotype, we place a large emphasis on feet and udder quality, as we believe these are two of the biggest problems facing the commercial and seed stock industries. Focusing on making long lived maternal cattle with real world muscle is our goal. Bulls and replacement females are marketed annually in our bull sale the second Wednesday in February at the Dunlap Livestock Auction! If you have any questions feel free to give us a call, and thank you for your time!
