Well when life gives you lemons you make lemonade!

I was trying to beat the tropical storm all day and get to my parents house in VA from my house in Nashville (my trip to Marco Island for a travel conference was cancelled) - but after 7 hours I just could not drive in the pouring down rain and thunder and lightening anymore - it was too scary! I also have 2 scared dogs in the car with me so we got a hotel for the night in of all places - Marion, NC -just outside of Asheville - my husband is from Marion, IN! Too funny.

Cruz is a nervous traveler and let’s just say the hotels know what they’re doing when they charge an extra $75 a night for pets 🤦‍♀️

But the silver lining - I found a great local bar and restaurant with great food and service! The lemon drop martini, Branzino, cheese grits, Caesar salad and garlic mushrooms were all wonderful.

Cheers! It’s supposed to thunder and lightening and rain all night - so I’m taking the wine back to the room with me! Storms all day tomorrow too so I may just stay another night - wish me luck!
