First UKC show ✅
Holy cow, this weekend was incredible. After a year of saying I was going to enter a show, there was finally one less than an hour from me and I couldn’t think of a reason not to. So I put on my big girl pants and entered, and I’m so glad I did. I had such a blast. I learned so much. And now I’ve been bitten by the dog show bug and can’t wait to enter more!!
I’ve known from the beginning that Ember isn’t perfect and probably wouldn’t have a very successful showing career. And that’s okay! Not every dog has to be successful for it to be enjoyable. So even though she didn’t take any big titles (though we did get first in our class and best female in our class by default since she was the only one in her class 😂), we still had a blast, and Ember did incredible and I’m so proud of her ♥️
I’m so grateful for this weekend, and can’t wait for many more to come.

Happy first birthday to our New Beginnings litter!!
Wow I can’t believe it’s been a whole year!! These pups have had an awesome first year of life, thanks to their incredible families! I’m so grateful for each and every one of you giving these babies such amazing homes and lives! I can’t wait to see what they do as they continue to live their lives to the fullest with their awesome families!

Happy birthday to my Ember (yesterday 😅)! She got to spend her birthday doing what she loves most, at the daycare with me playing with her favorite kiddos 🥹

I love this girl so much, and am so happy she’s mine. Idk what we’d do without her goofy personality and endless love and constant need for cuddles and scritches and her biggest puppy dog eyes and her silly faces and her howling at sirens. I love her more than life itself ♥️

YES to all of this!! 👏🏻👏🏻
I will NEVER recommend getting two puppies at the same time, whether they’re from the same litter or not, unless you are an experienced trainer. Combatting littermate syndrome is doable, but very difficult and time consuming and requires an extensive knowledge on dog behavior.
PLEASE do your research before purchasing from any breeders that are recommending or encouraging in any way getting two puppies at the same time.

This is what bath time looks in our house with 3 dogs 🙃🧼

All 3 dogs got a much needed spa day. We did bath, blow dry, nails, and teeth. I imagine they all feel so much better after a good cleaning. I know I always do 😂

Ember and I will (hopefully) be headed to our first conformation show the end of this month, so I’ve been really working on my grooming skills to make sure she’s looking s**c and span for her show debut! We’re so excited to finally be getting in the ring!

I have recently started a pet photography business and I am LOVING it! I get to spend my evenings taking pics of gorgeous dogs. Plus, it means my two get to be my test dummies for new locations so they’re getting lots of updated pictures 😂

It’s late, but just wanted to wish everyone, especially our families a happy National Dog Day!

I’m honor of National Dog Day, Maverick got neutered 😭. No more little baby Maverick’s for us. I know his one and only litter was not intentional and was never supposed to happen. But dang, did he make some good babies. And those babies have some of the best families!

Happy 3rd birthday to my bestest boy 🥹🥹

Maverick turned 3 yesterday, and we celebrated big last night. He got his own cake and some new toys lol (yes I’m that dog person that treats their dogs like children on their birthday, oh well 🤷🏼‍♀️). He clearly enjoyed his cake (as did Ember lol)

I can’t imagine where I’d be without this dude. He has gotten me through some of the lowest points in my adulthood. He gets me out of the house (bc backyard fetch is not sufficient for him lol), he always greets me with a big, happy, derpy smile and a wiggling butt. I love this guy and would be lost without him ♥️

We did some public training with Ember today while we ran some errands. It’s been a bit since we’ve done public training, so today was more of a refresher for both of us. We made sure not to push her past her limits so that she was best set up for success. And she did great! She was incredibly well-behaved, and did so good to keep her focus on me. So obviously she was rewarded with picking out a toy. She chose Chewbacca, and then proceeded to carry it around the entire store 😂

**disclaimer: Ember is not a service dog, and she only came with us to pet friendly stores. Her vest says “in training, do not pet” and does not claim her to be a service dog. But I want my dogs to be able to behave in public and around strangers. So we make sure to do regular outings to pet friendly locations to keep their training up to par ☺️

We are so thankful for this great country we live in and for the freedoms it allows us. And we’re especially thankful for those that have fought and lost their lives for those freedoms ♥️

We got our pictures back from our dock diving event a few weeks ago!!

We had so much fun, and got some pretty good pics too 😂. Maverick did not jump his best, but I think that was mostly on me (I need to work on my toy throwing skills). But it’s okay, because we still qualified for regionals (conditionally)!!

We also tried Air Retrieve for the first time, and needless to say it did not go well (see pics 12-15 😅). Maverick wasn’t quite sure what to do with the hanging toy, so he just barked at it. But that’s okay, we ended on a good note and we’ll try again after some training.

We can’t wait for our next event in a few weeks!

Happy 6 months to our New Beginnings litter!! I can’t believe they’re already 6 months, time goes by too fast 😭. These babies are all living their best lives, we’ve got the best puppy families ever!!!

I can’t wait to continue to watch them grow!!

Yesterday was National Bring Your Dog To Work Day, so naturally, Ember came with me to work. I am a preschool teacher at a daycare, and coming to work with me is like Ember’s Disneyland. She has been coming with me since she was about 9 months old and she adores it. She is so loving and patient with the kids, and they get so excited to have her there. And as an added bonus, it’s a great opportunity to teach our kiddos how to properly treat and interact with animals!

We’ve been a little MIA recently! We’ve had some busy weeks the past few weeks. Our last post was about the dock diving event in TN, which was incredible! And we finally got the pictures back from that, and they are awesome!

We (the humans) also went on a dog-free (😭) trip to Illinois and Wisconsin. We were gone for almost 2 weeks, which is the longest I’ve ever left my dogs. We had a lot of fun on our trip, but I was sure glad to get back home to my fur kiddos 😂

And now we are back and getting ready for a packed summer of dog events! Ember was supposed to have her first show in a few weeks, but she had her heat right before we left for vacation, so her coat is still filling back out from that, so I decided to hold off until the next one in July. But we do have another weekend of dock diving next weekend in Alabama! Maverick is entered for distance jump and we’re going to try air retrieve, and I’m going to see if I can get Ember off the dock as well! We are so excited for all the fun things we have planned this summer, so stay tuned!!

Maverick and I spent this weekend over in Soddy Daisy, TN at a dock diving event at Southern Kingdom Diving Dogs. We had so much fun, and even got our first title! Maverick now has his DJ (Dock Junior). He also got a new personal best (like 4 times, he just kept jumping farther lol) of 15’3”, which puts him in the Senior division! Hopefully we can get his DS title at our next event next month!
Maverick loves this sport, it’s definitely his favorite out of everything we’ve tried. I’m so proud of him ♥️

There she goes!! Bloom (now Fawkes) found the most amazing home, and headed off this evening! And even better, they’re only two cities away from me 😂. Her new family is going to love her so much. The universe was obviously holding her for the perfect family, and I’m so happy with where she ended up ♥️

I had hoped to not have to make this post, but it seems fate is against me. Unfortunately, Bloom has, once again, become available. She was supposed to be headed to her new home next weekend, but her new family decided it’s not the right time for them to get a puppy.

I can’t possibly explain how confused/shocked/upset/dumbfounded/sad I am that Bloom has yet to find a home. Never in my wildest dreams did I think she’d be the last one here, let alone the last one by so much. She is such a sweet puppy, so incredibly loving, and insanely smart, and I can’t fathom how anyone has passed her by. She is such a fantastic all around dog. She really embodies what an Aussie temperament is supposed to be. She is resilient and balanced, even tempered, versatile, and down for anything. She excels at anything she tries. She would make a great family/herding/sport/really anything dog. She would fit well and be happy in any home.

Bloom has found a home!!
After weeks of being unsure if she would end up being a permanent fixture in our home (which I honestly would not have been upset about), she has finally found somewhere to call home. She will be headed to her new family in Rhode Island in two weeks to live on a farm with her Aussie mix sister, and being trained to herd sheep.

This is bittersweet for me. She is the last of my first litter. I have grown quite fond of her the last few weeks while she’s been the only one here. But I am so excited for her and her new family and the adventures she’s going to have, and I know she’s going to have a great life!

Bloom had her first experience with the high velocity blow dryer yesterday!

We have used a human hair dryer since 5 weeks old to get the puppies used to the noise and experience of grooming equipment. This, however, was her first time experiencing the big dryer! And she did amazing! She did not even flinch when I turned it on, or when I started blowing it on her. Proud dog mom/breeder moment 🥹😂

This kiddo is 16 weeks today, and we have officially entered the ”ears have a mind of their own” stage 😂. Her ears are doing some wonky things, I’m very interested to see how they end up.
Maverick definitely had a wonky ear phase (pictures below) but Ember never really did! It’s been so interesting to see which specific traits each puppy gets from their mom vs their dad.

We went on an adventure on Sunday! Now that Bloom is the only one here (and fully vaccinated), it’s her turn to have some solo adventures with the big dogs. We explored a river park on the Mississippi River and got to take some pictures in front of a Mississippi river cruise ship. And we got some great updated spring pics of Bloom!
She is quite the explorer, she was so confident and curious about everything. She had great trail manners and sat so nicely for pictures. She’s quite the charmer! If she stays here too much longer, she may just end up staying forever 😂

We dropped this sweet guy off in Tennessee yesterday to his new mom, then they headed up to Maryland to his new home on a farm! Neo (now Whiskey) can tend to be hesitant around new people, but he instantly fell in love with his new mom and went right with her without giving me a second glance. I’m so excited for him and his new adventure!!
