We are a 501c3 nonprofit small animal rescue who focuses on helping neglected, abused, sick, injured animals; rehabilitating them, and finding them approved homes. We educate the public on the importance of TNR, allowing sufficient time for the new pet to settle in to new surroundings, and educating others on how to socialize unsocialized cats. We provide educational days with our rescued reptiles
, farm days to brighten up residents in nursing homes. We travel all over PA, NY, Nj, Ohio to rescue animals in need. We also help to transport rescues to other rescue facilities, or new homes.

I need help with placement of a 15 year old cat. She is losing her home through not fault of her own. I have two weeks to find her a safe place to land. She is spayed. There has to be someone out there to give this sweet girl a furever home in her final years. If you can’t help, please share.
Moe came to us 2 years ago in August from another rescue. The person who had him said he was living under her couch. His food and water bowel, and litter box was placed beside the couch as well. He was terrified to come out. Moe’s sibling was the complete opposite being very sociable. We were asked to take Moe to give him a chance at a better life. He hated being touched. He would flatten himself to the floor out of fear. Two years later, he is allowing a few pets now and then. I’ll take it.
We are in desperate need of dry cat food. The fewer dyes in the food the better. We aren’t able to get enough food from the program we are in. Your help to feed all of these cats is greatly appreciated. It costs us over $200 biweekly to keep them fed.

Sam, Anos, Grandma Tilly, sawahka, Oscar, Quetie, Sugar, and Mac on the chest. They all are comforting Oscar. They know he doesn’t feel well.
A few of our kitties who have been with us from Egypt.
Look who has gained almost 3 pounds since we brought her home !!!!! Miss Emma weighs 6.61 pounds and continues to do great. She will be spayed, vaccinated and tested in September. She will then be ready for adoption! If anyone is interested in this sweet girl, please send me a message. I’m looking for a wonderful home for her. She’s been through so much and deserves a perfect furever home.
3-4 month old kitten in need of a safe place. We have kitty colds going through right now and cannot bring a kitten into the chaos.
She showed up at the roller coaster manufacturing company on route 890 in Augustaville. The neighbor says she is theirs but has been hanging out in the area for the past 3 days. She is said to be very skinny.
Can anyone help, please!
We made this post 731 days ago, Re*****on is still at Blue Chip. He has now been with us for 1,272 days.
1,272 family-less days.💔
1,272 nights in the shelter.💔
1,272 days with our volunteers.💔
Hi, I’m Re*****on.
I was surrendered after my father started to cause fights with me in the home, so our owner thought it was best to separate us. Since I was the younger of the two, he chose to bring me to Blue Chip. When I arrived I was a young guy, only a year & a half old. Now I’m 5.
I love walks, food, toys, car rides, running, giving hugs, giving kisses, and protecting my family. Due to my time at the shelter, I have very strong bonds with my volunteers, they are my current family. I can be wary of new humans and need time to trust them before feeling fully comfortable. I am not a fan of cats, vet visits, baths, and would do best in an adult only home. I would do best as the only animal in my home. I am house and crate trained, as well as leash trained I have completed a lot of training with the shelter’s trainer and have been doing very well, he even said he would continue my training with my new family - whenever they should come!

It’s been almost 8 weeks since we received a phone call about a starving momma cat and her 5 kittens dumped along a remote country road. The first pic is of the momma when we first picked her up. The second two are recent pics. We are happy to say that momma has a wonderful furever home waiting for her. Most, if not all, of the kittens will be placed with another rescue.
From time to time we are asked to help with antisocial cats who need more time, and who aren’t suitable for Pet Smart or cat cafes. We like to work together with other rescues to help all cats. All cats deserve a chance. So, once the kittens are ready we will be coordinating transport of the kittens to the other rescue, and bringing a semi feral older kitten to us. We have already taken in the second feral who wasn’t doing well with her foster.
We appreciate Patti’s help with fostering this family more than she knows !! I’m sure it isn’t going to be easy seeing the kittens move on, but she has done a wonderful job loving and caring for this family.
We have set up a wish list for kitten supplies for this kitten who was abandoned by its momma. We have help with bottle feeding but could use KMR and supplies. Mikki has created an Amazon wish list for supplies for this kitten. Please help us and Mikki to help this kitten. Mikki and Cheryl always volunteer to help us with bottle feeding. I know this kitten is in excellent hands.
We would like to do a rescue walk fundraiser this fall. You would be able to bring your dog along.
I’m looking for suggestions for a good location.
This right here !!!!
The reality of RESCUE... 😞
Every year we pray it's going to get better. It NEVER does. Only WORSE. 💔
We're all beyond EXHAUSTED.
People aren't spay & neutering allowing pregnancies, throwing their unfixed cats out, hoarding situations becoming more of the norm, sick cats everywhere..
People are surrendering their cats at an ALARMING RATE causing shelters to be in CRISIS 🆘🚨 mode!! With the "great economy" people aren't able to afford food & vet care for pets anymore.
Rescues and shelters are drowning. There's not enough HELP! ❌
No one wants to do the work anymore! It's the same rescue people doing the same work and the workload keeps getting HEAVIER and HEAVIER and HEAVIERRRRR....
This cannot continue. The burnout is REAL. 😵💫
I've been reading & observing trends in fellow rescues/shelters locally and out of state. It's the same across the board! CRISIS MODE. 🛑
We're reading some haven't had adoptions in MONTHS yet intake is at an all time HIGH!!!! The math ain't mathin!
We stopped intake for good reason, because we had to!! Overtaking too many cats is not healthy for them nor our SANITY!
HOURS and HOURS and HOURS of work daily and then imagine someone getting mad you don't want MORE ???? 😫
Please don't give attitude and get upset when rescues/shelters explain THEY'RE FULL! WE ARE!!!!
Its great when people explain they can't do anything because: "They work and have three cats...." (insert more excuses here... 🙄)
What do you think WE ALL DO??? We're ALL volunteers and have jobs, kids, our own cats, and houses too! We're real people behind it all!!
People DO NOT understand the amount of work it takes to operate a rescue! Let alone NOT getting paid a dime to do it! Imagine waking up daily to 30+ messages deep completely BURIED before even a cup of coffee!!!
⬇️ A small part of rescue work ⬇️
Intake, cleaning crates, adoptions, running an entire page, pictures, answering questions, a sea of messages every single day via inbox & emails, personal messages, accounting/administrative work, vet appointments, clinic appointments, sick cats, baths, ordering supplies, keeping a track of medical records - Who needs what when... It's ENDLESS ‼️‼️‼️
Things have got to CHANGE!
More people NEED TO STEP UP because we're watching one by one rescues shutting down. If not for rescues, shelters would be TWICE as bad, MORE animals euthanized!
There's TOO MANY ANIMALS NOT ENOUGH HOMES!!!!!!
STOP BREEDING! 🚫
FIX YOUR CATS! 🚫
STOP ALLOWING PREGNANCIES! 🚫
STOP GETTING ANIMALS YOU CANNOT AFFORD! 🚫
STOP WAITING UNTIL IT GETS OUT OF CONTROL TO GET HELP! 🚫
People need to be more responsible but.. Sadly... We're preaching to the choir!
Before more help is LOST.... CONSIDER STEPPING UP rather than do NOTHING and COMPLAIN about it. Fosters are needed!!!
👉 Remember... YOU ARE SOMEONE!

So I received a very rude message from a very rude person pretty much demanding my help with cats. And I guess I didn’t return her “numerous phone calls” in a timely manner. Which now makes us a “sketchy nonprofit” who shouldn’t be taking in animals. First off you have my address wrong. Secondly, just for your information we work a full time job on top of the many animals that we take care of. Oh and we do have a personal life with life’s challenges outside of the rescue world. So excuse me while I didn’t return your message as quickly as you would like. And just because you left me a message does not mean that we are obligated to help with the cats you need help with. We do what we can when we have room to. So before you threaten me with getting in trouble for running a sketchy rescue and living in a dumpy trailer with junk all around us (which is no where around where I live), how about you take the time to volunteer with a rescue to see what all goes on behind the scenes, keeping up with the rescue’s hectic schedule and not on what time you have to volunteer. Seriously folks. Have more respect for those who run rescues. We give up a lot of our own personal time to help animals in need. We are humans who face life challenges but still need to be available 24/7 for the animals in our care. And just because we are a rescue doesn’t mean we can take on every animal in need. The SPCA’s run out of space at some point. Rescues do too!
Big Mac is the sweetest!! He still has some weight to gain. He came back to us because he wasn’t getting along with the other cat. He seems to know his place here and there aren’t any problems. He is very vocal and loves attention.
Sweet Emma💕
Powerful !
This just happened to Emma’s playpen. This is where Emma is staying until she gains weight to be able to fend off any kitty colds when she comes into a busy house. She comes out with me when I’m on the deck to roam around. If anyone could donate one to our rescue, we would greatly appreciate it !!! If anyone has a used one in good shape, contact me. That’s fine too !!

Update on Miss Emma. She is almost 5 pounds !!!!😃. She is eating two cups of cat naturals a day. She looooves temptations cat treats. She is due for a worming for tape worms. I’ve been holding off a bit for her to gain a little more weight. My vet told me if she survived the first round of worm meds than she should be ok with this round.
Or more ! Lol
Or more!!!
Happy hump day ♥️
Panther was part of a hoarding case in NY where he was kept in a crate for almost a year. He is learning to enjoy being out of a crate. He has freedom of the cat house and catio. He was seen looking through the screen of the catio at me yesterday as I sat on the deck. He is not people friendly at this time. But that’s ok. Maybe in time he will learn to trust humans
It’s a cat nap kind of day
Laverne came to us a few years ago being very shy and angry with her given situation. She was left behind by her previous owners and would not leave the porch of her home. She still doesn’t like to be pet very often but she is coming around more , becoming more talkative and rubbing against our other cats. She’s a sweet girl who is starting to show her age.
Gerry says hello !! She is our social butterfly from Egypt. She goes from room to room hanging out with other groups of cats. When she’s done she comes out with us and goes to the next room. Lol.

Here’s the kitty that Heidi’s Furry Friends was able to secure. They got him neutered and we have him to see how friendly he is. Obviously he is quite friendly. lol He will be FIV/FeLv tested, microchipped, and his adoption is pending.
Lil Bean is doing great. He’s drinking his kitten milk replacer from a shallow bowl. He sure is a sweetheart.
One of our semi- feral cats who came to us from another rescue because she was trapped and spayed in an area where it wasn’t safe to release her. She had been living in our cathouse l/catio until she developed an URI. . She has decided that I’m ok to hold her and give her lots of pets and hugs. She did lots of dropping, purring, and making biscuits. Hopefully someday she will be ready to be adopted.
Hope continues to feel good. He has been weaned off prizosin, one of the meds helping him to empty his bladder. And he is now being weaned off bethanicol, another med that helps him to urinate. He remains on Clavamox ( Augmentin) for the inflamed bladder until the unltraosund shows his bladder wall is back to normal. He is also on a few other meds until he is cleared to be off of them. So far so good.
Sebastian decided tonight that he was perfectly fine and wanted to be pet . Even purring. He is a very sweet boy and would love to stay with his friend, Pickle.
Meet Timber. She was picked up off the side of a road by a kind woman who couldn’t let her there to get hit by a car. She has been given her second dose of antibiotics, started on ear mite medicine, saline nose sprays to loosen up that junk, and some syringe feeding to get her going. She is very skinny and dehydrated. She loves the bone broth over her can food!! A nice self warming bed awaits her. Thank you for your donations for her care. She will be vet checked and eventually spayed and vaccinated when she is healthier. 💕💕💕
Moe, the antisocial big Siamese, who use to live under the couch of his previous owner is finally allowing small pets. Is he happy about it ? Probably not by the look of his face. Did he run ? No. And he didn’t swat, bite, growl or hiss. LOL. I’ll take it. Small steps at a time.
Lucy is still waiting for her furever home. She’s a quiet, sweet girl who looks for attention every time she sees me.
Here’s the shy brother who has really come out of his shell. He also gets along well with other cats. He is so sweet and loves attention!!
This big boy is still waiting for his new furever indoor home. He gets along well with other cats. Neutered. Vaccinated for FVRCP.
I know joan usually makes all the posts here but I’m so proud of Houser. He came to me months back as a feral from wilkes barre area. He’s been a tough one to get through to but after months of talking to him and making him feel safe today was the day. Houser is well on his way to being a house cat. Way to go buddy! This was the first time I was able to touch him and he even leaned into my scratches. Love this boy. Such a great feeling he will never have to be scared again.
