Happy Holidays from West River Veterinary Clinic! We would like to express our deepest gratitude to our clients who have supported us through the years and those who continue to support. Our team has worked very hard this year to keep the clinic running efficiently through staffing issues and expanding clientele. To show our appreciation to our wonderful staff, we will be closed for regular business hours and emergency services on Christmas Day and New Years Day. We will be closed Christmas Eve, but emergency services will still be available. Regular business hours will resume on December 26th and January 2nd. Thank you for understanding and we look forward to continuing to serve our valued clients in 2025!

The West River Veterinary Clinic in Hettinger, ND has openings for full-time small animal, AND large animal assistants, to accommodate our expanding business. WRVC not only has a great staff, facility, and equipment; but we also place a high priority on a balanced work and family life.
The small animal position largely entails assisting the doctors with exams and surgical procedures, as well as communicating with clients. Other duties include diagnostic tests such as routine lab work, x-rays, and ultrasounds. Large animal assistants spend the majority of their time working out in the country with livestock, operating hydraulic chutes, vaccinating cattle, and assisting in day-to-day operations at the clinic.
We offer competitive wages based on experience, as well as benefits for full-time employees. Experience is preferred, but NOT required. Benefits include a single policy health plans, life insurance, HSA, and matching retirement, among other benefits.

Just a caution for taking dogs to the lakes for activities. Dogs can become exposed by swimming or drinking infected water. If your dog shows any signs of vomiting, diarrhea, lethargy, or tremors after swimming, call your veterinarian immediately. Liver and nervous system disease can occur, so do not delay if you are concerned!

With so many smiling faces coming through the clinic these days, we have been finding a lot of pets with dental problems/disease. Our February Dental month discount appointments filled up so quickly, that we have decided to have our own Dental Health month in August to extend the dental discounts. **Returned to owner**

This dog was found running around Hettinger. The dog was taken to the West River Vet Clinic by our office.
Owner must stop into our office to pay the fine and obtain a release form in order to have the dog returned.
