Come out and see Gracious Friends Animal Sanctuary in the Totally 80's Labor Day Parade at 1pm in Heuvelton tomorrow! Meet Hank who was rescued and adopted from the Sanctuary! Hank is a true rescue success! Rescued from the streets of Gouverneur on Christmas of 2022. He was emaciated and estimated to be 12 years old. Hank found his forever home with the LaPiene family in February of 2022. He weighed 60 pounds and had Lyme Disease. DNA tests estimate that Hank is actually 4 or 5! Soon after adoption, Hank had his first of 3 grand mal seizures. He started a treatment regimen and has been seizure free for 3 years now! Hank is currently 100 pounds of loyalty and the best friend anyone could ask for. He enjoys following his Daddy around the work sites and enjoys posing for photo opts with his mommy. He is great with young children and is best friends with the family cats! The LaPiene family did not rescue Hank, he rescued them! You can not rewrite a dog's past but you can rewrite their future!

Rose loves her treats from her treat players! Watching her get so excited brings lots of joy! She can't contain herself!
Rose is looking for a furever home or foster home to hang out at and all the treats! She's just over a year old, so she's got some energy, but that's OK! We can support you and offer lots of DIY enrichment ideas and quick brain games to play with any of our pups!
Come out to the Sanctuary and have a visit with our girl. Try some games with her while you are here. Or take her for a much needed walk.
Any little human interaction helps 💜🧡

Ohhhhh Brutus fans!! We know you are out there!!
We are looking for someone who would be interested in fostering this silly boy and getting him out of the kennel, while he waits for his furever home. He is a very social and loves to be around humans - he just wants to be your pal! He sometimes forgets his size, but that's only because he's so goofy. He is around 2 years of age, so he is still a bit of a big baby, but you can't help but fall in love with the boy when you meet him. We would love to see how Brutus does in a home! Shelter impressions aren't always the greatest, so please don't judge our furry friends at first sight. Come out and get to know Brutus. Walk with him, talk to him, spend some time in the play yard with him, and let him show you his wonderful personality.
