Supporting Wonderland Animal Sanctuary
Wonderland Animal Sanctuary, located in Hayesville, provides a safe and compassionate home for 60–70 rescued animals. The sanctuary cares for a diverse group of animals, including dogs, cats, rabbits, goats, a donkey, a mini horse, chickens, roosters, and occasionally ducks. Over the years, Wonderland has even taken in more unusual rescues, such as an orphaned raccoon.
Partnership in Action
The Mountain Beautification and Revitalization Association (MBRA), a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization in Towns County, has played a vital role in supporting the sanctuary. MBRA generously donated labor for construction and improvement projects, while ARFS supplied all necessary materials. This partnership allowed significant improvements to be made without placing financial strain on the sanctuary.
ARFS Support in 2024
In 2024, ARFS continued its commitment to Wonderland by providing a portable barn to replace a structure destroyed by a lightning strike and resulting fire. ARFS also funded and supported the repair of perimeter fencing, helping ensure the safety and well-being of the animals in Wonderland's care.
Through collaboration and community support, Wonderland Animal Sanctuary can continue its mission to protect and care for animals in need.
