As most of you may know, our space that Forever Friends Animal Clinic has called home for the past few years experienced an unexpected water leak in the last couple of weeks. Building management has done little to none to help us resolve or recover from the ongoing leak or accept any accountability. It is a developing situation we are trying to resolve. That fact, coupled with dwindling community support over the past year as veterinary medicine becomes standardized in our small community; we have been forced to make the heartbreaking decision of closing our doors. Today will be our last day seeing appointments via house call. To our clients who we have seen in the last 12 months, we will reach out and send any necessary records to you as well as maintain our online pharmacy for the upcoming months for refill medications. Please be patient with us during this transition. Any specific request, email [email protected].
To our loyal clients and patients, I will never forget you or your pets and all they have taught me. As a Towns County native, I appreciate those in our community that supported us. I have appreciated both new friends and strangers just passing through. I’m thankful for the support of some childhood friends and teachers, and new friends and extended family… and I will forever remember that support.. and to those friends and extended family who I had hoped would have supported us more, I will remember as well. In all honesty; while my fondness for my community in which I grew up will always be present, that light shines a little less bright today than it did 7 years ago. As a Hiawassee native, I did place hope and faith in our little town to embrace us more completely and give us the foothold we needed to see our clinic grow more and gain longevity. Sadly, we weren’t given the support needed to be a lasting foundation as a business in the community. But every chapter in life is a growing one. For us as well as for those pet owners nearby seeking veterinary care in the upcoming months and years. Bygone are the days of ease of veterinary care for your pets that so many of you feel should be accessible to you..
To every employee and team member I have tagged here (and a few others) who helped build us and put your belief in us; from all of you, I gained a multitude of what makes life good and I will forever hold each of you dear. No one else can know the sacrifices that I made us to hold us all together for as long as I was able. To the four of us left standing at the end, that is a bond never broken. Addison Rogers.. you will be soon become the best nurse around, I’m so proud of you. Special thanks to my sister, Amber Barrett for using her brilliant mind to support us and give me, the staff and ever single client her absolute 100% best every single day. And to Alexis Ramos.. there aren’t words enough to thank you for the support and the love and laughter you have given. Oh how much you have grown over the years and how much I love you.. the sky is the limit for what you can accomplish.. and I’ll support you always.
Again, thank you to those who stood by us over the years. I will take all of that support and those life lessons into my next chapter as a veterinarian. May we always remember those pets we love and cherish who we are privileged to call our “forever friends.”
