This includes full service grooming, comprehensive exams, preventative care, soft tissue surgery, radiology and advance dental procedures! We also offer professional grooming services, including bathing, deshedding treatments, and haircuts.

We’re excited to now offer laser therapy treatments. Laser therapy helps tissue repair by causing the following:

Endorphin release
Vasodilation, which increases blood flow to bring in oxygen and cells involved in the healing process
Muscle relaxation
Decreased inflammation
Faster healing and repair
The main clinical benefits of laser use in pets include decreased inflammation, decreased pain, and improved wound healing.

Who can benefit from laser therapy?

Laser therapy is used for many veterinary medical conditions, including:

Chronic arthritis
Surgical incisions
Tendon and ligament injuries
Traumatic injuries
Laser therapy is particularly useful for pets with limited medical treatment options, such as:

Pets with liver disease who cannot take medications
Cats, for whom only a few pain-control medications are approved
Older pets with diminished organ function

We had a great time at the Hickman Trick or Treat on the Trail last night! 🎃
This year we did a Wizard of Oz theme! 🌪️
And Nala was the star of the night as “Toto” in a basket 😁. It was so fun to see everyone’s costumes! 👻

Last week, Dr. Micah Kohles took the opportunity to volunteer at Project Connect Lincoln (formerly Project Homeless Connect). This is a one-day, one-stop event where individuals and families who are homeless or at-risk of homelessness are able to receive a wide variety of immediate, on-site services and support for unmet needs. One of those needs being veterinary services. Such a great event and a wonderful way to give back to the community!

Let’s talk about pet obesity!

It’s a growing problem and many people are so conditioned to seeing overweight pets that seeing a healthy pet now seems “too skinny” to some.
One common issue that occurs is most people aren’t aware that the back of the food bags gives you recommend amounts to feed unaltered animals (meaning animals who aren’t neutered or spayed). Once an animal is spayed or neutered their metabolism changes and slows down. So this is your reminder to check (& likely reduce) the amount you’re feeding your pet. If you have concerns about your pets weight please reach out to your veterinarian for guidance.

Here is a recent success story!
Reese, Willow, and Dori were all being feed the amounts on the back of their food bag but all were spayed, so they ended up gaining way too much weight over time. Reese started at 89 lbs, Willow was 79 lbs, and Dori was 20lbs in March. They started eating Royal Canin Satiety food (which is a weight reduction food) and now 6 months later….Reese has lost 21 lbs, Willow lost 18 lbs, and Dori lost 5 lbs! 🤯 Now they’re all at healthy weights and living a more active and healthy lifestyle!👏🏻
