Just want to say thank you to our secret barn cleaning/redecorating fairy!🧚‍♀️😃 We came back to a nice clean, and super cute viewing room, complete with some custom made cookies!! How cute are the cow print chairs and horse blanket pillow coverings?! Thank you!!!😊❤️

Congratulations, Ava!!! So proud of our girl for completing her certification course with Josh Lyons/Lyons Legacy !

It's official, folks! At 12 years old, Ava just became the youngest Josh Lyons/Lyons Legacy Certified Trainer to date!
We can't thank Josh and his family enough for allowing Ava this amazing opportunity!! It has been an incredible experience, and Ava has gained so much confidence in the last 6 weeks. Josh is an incredible teacher who not only has a wealth of knowledge to share, but also a passion for sharing it. Ava loved every minute of learning, and we are excited to see what she decides to do with all of her newfound skills!

My mom, a retired computer programmer of a big bank in Chicago, now quilter extraordinaire😉, taught me this; In quilting, of you don't get your *basic* initial measurements correct and clean accurate cuts made... in the end you're not going to have a quilt, you're going to have a "blob" 🤔

Same with a frame of a house, or the foundational training of a HORSE.

If your horse's basic, fundamental skill set is skewed, you're going to have a hard time building advanced maneuvers or asking them for the critical thinking required to perform at their highest level.

Long story short, it seems to me that high quality basics are more important than anything else, which is why the ancient Pyramids were built like this "🔼" and not this "🔽"....😉😄

Better late than never...we have been in Colorado for the last week and a half, because Ava got an amazing opportunity to train with Josh Lyons/Lyons Legacy for 6 weeks! She is learning to train an unbroke horse from the ground up, and also brought a broke horse to learn on. 4th annual Bauer and Gooding Clinic was a great time yesterday! We had a diverse group of horses and riders, which provided ample opportunities for teaching and learning. It was a busy day of pleasure, horsemanship, and showmanship!
Thanks to all who came out to learn with us, and a big thank you to Garth and Austin Gooding of Bauer and Gooding Show Horses for yet another awesome event!

✨️We are excited to share that Josh Lyons will be coming back for a 5 day clinic July 16-20, 2024!! Josh is a phenomenal teacher, and we hope you'll join us for what will surely be 5 amazing days of learning!✨️

The details:
🔹️This will be a 5 day clinic open to all levels and disciplines of horses and riders where we will be doing liberty/groundwork and working under saddle. Check out https://www.joshlyons.com/ for more info on Josh and his training/clinics.
🔹️Cost will be $1750 per rider, and includes 5 days of instruction with Josh Lyons, stalling, lunch, and light breakfast refreshments each day. Rider slots are limited, and have already started filling!
🔹️We will have plenty of space for auditors, but we do ask that you pre-register by July 1st. Cost for 1 day of auditing is $45, and includes lunch and light breakfast refreshments.

Our first Josh Lyons/Lyons Legacy clinic is in the books! We had a fantastic long weekend of learning and comradery!
Josh was an amazing teacher - his passion for teaching people is very apparent, and we were all impressed with his ability to thoroughly explain every maneuver and technique used, and the reason why we were using it.
A huge thank you to everyone who attended and asked questions and participated in conversations and demos, and an even bigger thank you to Josh and his family for sharing their time, knowledge, and wisdom with us!
We are looking forward to the next one already!
