🌟 Did you know? 🌟

Horses do NOT grow hair according to temperature! Horses grow hair according to daylight. Shorter days tell them to start preparing for colder weather - but guess what? The days are still HOT! Horses in full work suffer greatly in the fall due to rapid hair growth without the relief of cooler weather! Aside from those in full work, those with medical issues who might struggle to regulate their own temperature or hair growth, need assistance as well. If you are considering or on the fence about clipping your horse, whether you use myself and my team at Armour Equine Services or another professional, please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions you might have. It is a tough time of year for everyone and we are here to provide comfort to our equine friends and knowledge to our human friends!

This is Andy, and he got his first ever full body clip yesterday in prep for his first full time show season with his owners, the Pardue’s. What a handsome guy! Whether it’s their first or their 50th clip, McIntyre Grooming Services takes special care to make sure it is a positive experience.

Did you know that McIntyre Grooming Services clips all breeds? So don’t be shy to ask! This is PeeWee, and he is a 5x world champion Saddlebred. PeeWee was such a gentlemen for his haircut, as well as his 2 other Saddlebred barn mates, Miller and Gwen. They will all be competing in a few weeks and showing off their shiny coats! 🥇

Meet Verdi, the newest member of the Correll family that McIntyre Grooming Services had the pleasure of doing a full body clip on this week. What a handsome and chill dude! He will be showing at Tryon with his partner, Morgan, at the end of the month. Be sure to wish them luck! 🍀

It has been a quiet summer for McIntyre Grooming Services, but we did have a few appointments. Johann at Thoroughbred Training Center got his characteristic draft feathers trimmed up again to help the staff keep his skin healthy. Glad we could be a part of keeping this big guy healthy, happy, and cool! Looking forward to cooler weather and the beginning of clipping season! Message to schedule. ✂️

One of the final clips of the season, Tuck here got a full clip and a mane pull. His leasing kiddo is looking forward to riding this handsome man in her next show, Derby Mania at Harmon Field in Tryon. McIntyre Grooming Service’s, Kayley McIntyre, will also be in attendance of this show. Wish the Darbee Center show team luck and fun! 🍀

Handsome Romeo at Yonahlossee Stables in Boone, home to the Appalachian State Equestrian team. This was his first time being clipped and he is quite ticklish! We wish his new owner, Katie Laverick, and her new partner best of luck with their summer endeavors 🍀

This is handsome Riley at the Thoroughbred Training Center in Mocksville. He was hunter clipped in the fall and was reclipped for the spring on Tuesday of this week. This guy is sensitive about his head so we stopped there and gave a clean line around the jaw using an Andis 10 blade. Riley is feeling fresh and ready for spring riding! 🌷 Thank you as always to TTC for hosting, and for owner Maggie Watts for entrusting McIntyre Grooming Services with Riley’s hairdos ✂️
