We aren't sure what those 6 years entailed, but we know its only love and a forever home from this point forward! She seems to struggle with a bit of separation anxiety and will need to be crated when left alone, but would love a home where her family works from home or is retired. Fresh out of foster care, Coco is stepping into our Dog of the Week spotlight! This sweet girl did so well in foster. We just can't imagine what she's going through sitting in the shelter again. Coco has started to decline being back in the kennels, and we desperately want to get her out and into a loving home. Coco's foster parents fell in love with her sweet personality, and were able to give us information on how she is in a home. While some dogs are a gamble on how they'll do, Coco has experienced it, and we know for sure how she will react to leaving the shelter!

Coco is easily trained and redirected on walks, even spending an evening behaving perfectly on a patio in downtown Hickory. While she is still a little timid about getting in the car, she rides well and enjoys outings. Coco is great with other dogs of all sizes, and seems non-reactive to cats in the shelter. She started becoming housebroken and crate trained in foster care, but because she is in the shelter again, will need a little patience remembering. No big deal - Coco is super smart! She would also do fantastic with kids 6 and older. She can be nervous with little ones and high stimulus situations, but adjusts quickly and loves affection.
