This is being shared as a PSA - The ExoticDVM veterinary forum is discuss the possibility of Cheerios causing zinc toxicity in a budgie. The Cheerios have not been tested but empirical data (removing the cheerios as a treat the bird is now responding to treatment. Whereas, when the cheerios were present he wasn't) suggests they were the culprit.

Beware of what you are feeding your birds!

We want to say thank you again for all support this weekend as we celebrated our one year anniversary. It warmed our hearts to see so much support from our clients and local businesses.

We have to thank Untapped Territory for the great venue and charity support. Beyond Balloons & More made sure the place looked incredible, and the deserts from Kims Kitchen were to die for.

Thanks to everyone’s incredible generosity, we raised $500 for Kiki's Legacy Parrot Rescue Foundation and River Rock Wildlife Rehab.

Of course we also need to thank all the wonderful companies and individuals who provided prizes for our client giveaways. Treasure's Vision, Erana Rodgers, Ceva, Virbac, Elanco, Vetquinol, Zoetis, Hill’s Pet Nutrition, and MWI among others.

We have the best clients around and we couldn’t be happier to serve you. Thank you so much for the support and we look forward to doing this again for many years to come.

Parrots in the care of Kiki's are provided foraging toys and other stimulating activities that involve chewing, shredding and playing, often referred to as "enrichment". These toys are important as it increases parrot activity levels and encourages independent play.

A little about Margaret: She rehabs (and releases back into the Wild) abandoned or injured songbirds. She is the only certified songbird wildlife rehabilitator in our area and services 5 counties! We don’t dress Chelsea up in dresses she has to wear a protective bib to protect her chest. People smile and say “I love her dress” and not “oh my goodness why doe she have to wear that!?
