Division II - bring out your conformation dogs that love to run:
WE OFFER DIVISION II RACING for WRA FOR DOGS WITH SHOW BRED LINES, WITH THEIR OWN SETS OF CHAMPIONSHIP POINTS. You can read more at https://www.whippetracing.org/Division-II-Information.pdf.
To participate in DII, a whippet must be approved by the DII Registrar. Requesting approval for DII is the responsibility of the owner/handler. To request approval, a copy of the whippet’s AKC, CKC or UKC registration along with the call name, owner(s), and 3-generation pedigree must be sent to the WRA DII Registrar at [email protected] at least 48 hours before a meet if approval is desired prior to a specific meet. If approved and the request was sent at least 48 hours prior to roll call/inspection as listed in the meet premium, the whippet will be considered an eligible DII adult starter for a meet even if the DII Registrar
is, for whatever reason, unable to immediately send an official approval notification or immediately update the WRA database. Only dogs on the approved list will be eligible for DII points. Your dog must be qualified to run with other dogs!!!!! We offer training at the race meet to achieve this goal if it does not. Questions regarding DII contact Debbey Bartos at [email protected] and don’t wait till the last minute. Do it now so you can get approved. PLEASE NOTE: Your dog must be registered with Division II 48 hours prior to the meet to be eligible for points.

Where to start… this past weekend ended up being a big deal for B-Line. First of all, back to back event weekends is hard on everyone, especially when traveling. Because of that, we teetered on entering the double WRA event in conjunction with the AWC National. The 9th of April we bit the bullet and entered Kesler for both days. In a turn of events, we also found out he is considered Division II as most of his Champion racing bloodlines are 4 tiers back past the required review of 3. (Also shows we missed the boat with Blue 😔) Kesler ran well and placed 1st in Division II BOTH days. 🤯

We also registered and entered Blue for her first WRA meet on Sunday with some help and encouragement from some great new friends. She didn’t place, but had a lot of fun.

Clover is also showing promise. She is FAST! Hoping we can continue to build her confidence and have another dog on the lure soon.

Dove enjoys chasing the bunny still, just little bumps for now.

We’re looking forward to what the future holds for our crew. So proud of all of them❤️

The B-Line crew attended our first American Whippet Club National Specialty Lure Coursing events and ran our boy FC B-Line's Star Of Anaheim SC (Kesler) and his momma Sparta's Southern Blue Belle SC (Blue). Both dogs have been coursing for less than a year and we couldn’t be more proud. These two are fanatics for the sport and we love to watch them run.

Saturday Blue placed 4th in the Veteran ASFA stake and Kesler placed NBQ (5th) in his Open stake. For Sunday’s AKC trial Blue placed 6th out of a 20 Veteran stake and Kesler placed 4th in his Special stake earning himself a coveted National plate. It’s not remiss to us to know how special it is to place at a national event or any event for that matter. We’ve walked away from many with only a smile and happy dogs. We are beyond grateful for every participant and volunteer who made this event happen; there is not enough “thank yous” to be had. We’re already looking forward to next year’s National and many events in the future.

B-Line Whippets are proud to announce (pending AKC confirmation) FC B-Line’s Star of Anaheim SC aka Kessler! B-Line’s first Field Champion!

We are so incredibly proud of this boy. We were super late to the game, but this 6 year old boy was happy and eager to chase his “bunny.” A first time AKC Lure Course entry in September and in three event weekends (6 trials) he obtained his final 5 point major and completed his Field Championship title Friday December 29th.

We are so grateful and would be remiss to not acknowledge the awesome clubs (GASM, MAHA, GANG) and every dog and owner that has come out and competed. These trials have been amazing and you have embraced us openly. None of this happens without you and we cannot thank this community enough.

Special thank you to Monica Kaschalk Simmons of Wannago Whippets. This was our dream. Your mentorship is invaluable and trusting us with your line means the world. Thank you.
