Update: CODY HAS LEFT THE VETS OFFICE AND FOUND A WONDERFUL FOREVER HOME with two compassionate, patient, amazing animal lovers, Ally and Josh! Thank you both for opening your heart and home to this deserving boy and for saving his life ❤️Another huge thank you goes out to Jill Hoffberg-Cohen, Karina Figueiredo Weiss, the vets , and staff at the vets office who took him in and gave him a second chance! Thank you to everyone who shared and fought for this sweet boy . Thank you, Jill, for your dedication to Cody and making this all possible! HAPPY TAILS, CODY! URGENT HELP!!!

Cody is an almost 8 year old Golden lab mix who was surrendered due to food guarding issues. The family did not know how to deal with resource guarding . Instead of hiring a trainer, they took matters into their own hands and sprayed him with pepper spray when he would guard his food.

After 8 years, they decided they had enough and brought him to the vet to be euthanized as there were bites involved.

Sadly, he doesn’t have a foster/rescuer/adopter yet.

•DOB 11/3/2015
•57.7 pounds
•UTD with vaccines and physical
•neutered
•walks great on a leash
•lived with cats but unsure about other dogs
•knows multiple commands and takes treats gentle
•very house trained ! He will hold it !!
•Very sweet but needs to be adopted by people who understand resource guarding and who will handle things the right and safe way.
