I may have had teachers and adults look at me like I would be nothing because I chose not to follow the "normal" path. But I've learned skills that are invaluable and made it where I'm at now. A trainer, (who has a wait list for students), a show producer, a momma, a successful barrel racer, living in a beautiful home with an amazing fiancé . I own 4 awesome horses and have 3 lesson horses! Which at 24 is an accomplishment in itself.....🐎 INVESTING IN MY BUSINESS AND MYSELF👩‍🌾 (Yes I'm going to scream this loudly, I am proud!)

Some days are rougher then others. But I have a pretty amazing life most days, some days I just have to step back and smile and remind myself, that's life. AND👏 I'M 👏NOT👏 DONE 👏YET! We are just getting started......

Did you know?

Feeding 100% alfalfa as a forage program presents several issues that can be problematic for some horses.

Issue 1: Excess protein intake. When a performance horse consumes a lot more protein than required the extra protein must be excreted via the urine. Along with the protein being excreted, water and electrolytes are also excreted. This can result in poor stamina, predisposition to dehydration, and reduced heat tolerance (especially in hot and humid conditions).

Issue 2: A 100% alfalfa diet alters intestinal pH in a manner that predisposes the horse to enteroliths.

Sometimes going back to the basics is just what you need to reset your brain. Not just the horse, but yourself as well. Finally getting our long low relaxed selves back. Filling in our holes that show up in our run. And learning how to have fun and be happy goes a long way.

It's been raining and nasty and we finally have a dry day! But this wet weather hasn't kept a few girls from coming out and learning things out of the saddle. Learning body parts and saddle parts are just as important! The sweet gelding featured is Chip! One of the lesson horses ❤

I am so proud of my sweet boy Dexter (BTR Texas Star). As I sort out some issues with my other horse. He had some big shoes to fill last night 🌠his first rodeo in the books. We did a queen wave at the first the instant the crowd cheered (I don't think he's ever seen that many people 😂) but then finished up the 2nd and 3rd like a champ. He handled muddy, deep, rodeo ground and I'm so proud of him ❤ he's such a quick learner I have no doubt he'll have the rodeo scene figured out in no time!

I just so happened to stumble across this picture, and I didn't realize how much I needed it. Just a reminder to myself that I've been there. At the top. And I can do it again. That yes, it has been a while and bringing along young horses is a journey. The best horse I owned was 12 years old when he ran this. Not 4. Not 7. 12 years old. For some reason in the horse industry that's looked at as old. But his prime was 8-16 years old. Mine still have a lot of years to get it figured out.

This was a reminder that I need to let loose and ride my horse as a jockey, not just a trainer. Do your work at home, trust your training at the show. If something falls apart, you have next week. Don't get discouraged. YOU CAN DO THIS.

Let me say it again. YOU CAN DO THIS! Do not give up your dreams if your fire has been gone for a while or if things haven't been going your way as of late. But use it as motivation. I could be upset that it's been a while since I've been able to go the pay window and collect my 1D 1st place check at a 300+ race. But it doesn't mean that I don't have the ability to get there. Stay positive and find what you need to fuel your fire. 🔥

This cute little girl is in for some pole bending training 😍 not very often do i get horses in for poles. 🐎 Which makes it so exciting! Pole bending is a difficult event which takes a lot of knowledge and and precision from both horse and rider. 🎓 Check back in a few weeks to see where she's at 🕵

Day 1 was a success. This one is special to me. Oakley is my first horse where I've selected a sire and went through the entire breeding process to finally wait 3 long years to be able to swing my leg over her back and it is the coolest feeling. She turned around and looked at me like " I've been waiting for you to do this." 🤷 I also had a very good supervisor, the ole' man didn't miss any of the action and could've used a bag of popcorn 😂

I know this isn't typical "c**t breaking" attire, but when it's 8pm and it's still 90 degrees.... I decided to take my chances and I honestly had no intentions of getting on Oakley, but the time just felt right.

Lately it just seems like I can't get my runs together. I put in the days and the hours in and it just seems like when we get to the show it doesn't end up how we've worked all week. But, if there is one thing I know. LD is gonna go try his heart out everytime. So I will always give mine, for all of my horses. Sometimes there's a road of struggle before success and I'm not going to let that get in my way. And if that's one thing I can teach anyone by watching on the sidelines or in the alley, the struggle just makes the success that much sweeter.
