🍂🐾 Attention Pet Owners: Fall & Halloween Safety Tips! 🐾🍂
As the leaves change and Halloween approaches, it’s important to keep our furry friends safe from seasonal hazards. Here are some tips to ensure your pets have a happy and healthy autumn:
🎃 Halloween Hazards
• Candy & Chocolate: Keep all treats out of reach! Chocolate and artificial sweeteners (like xylitol) are toxic to pets.
• Costumes: Only dress pets in costumes if they’re comfortable. Avoid anything that restricts movement, breathing, or vision.
• Decorations: Watch out for candles, electrical cords, and small decorations that could be chewed or swallowed.
🍁 Fall Dangers
• Cold Weather: As temperatures drop, make sure pets have a warm, dry place to sleep.
• Rodenticides & Chemicals: Fall is a common time for pest control. Keep all chemicals and traps far from curious noses.
• Mushrooms & Plants: Some wild mushrooms and autumn plants can be poisonous. Supervise outdoor playtime.
🦴 General Safety
• ID & Microchip: With doors opening for trick-or-treaters, pets can slip out. Make sure they have up-to-date ID tags and microchips.
• Safe Walks: Shorter days mean darker walks. Use reflective gear and keep pets leashed.
