It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the passing of our beloved K-9, Simba. After a courageous battle with cancer, Simba crossed the rainbow bridge, leaving a paw-shaped hole in our hearts.

Simba wasn't just a loyal companion and guardian; he was an integral part of our law enforcement family. His dedication, loyalty, and unwavering commitment to keeping our community safe will forever be remembered.

Simba touched the lives of many with his incredible skills, boundless energy, and loving spirit. Whether on duty or off, he brought joy and inspiration to all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Please join us in honoring and remembering K-9 Simba for his service and the impact he had on our community. We are grateful for the support and love you have shown throughout Simba's journey.

Rest in peace, dear Simba. Thank you for your selfless service. You will be deeply missed, but your legacy will live on in our hearts.

To respect the wishes of Simba's handler, Officer C. Vargas, a small gathering amongst family and friends was held.

We are so excited to welcome this handsome boy to the Family! He was shipped in & arrived this evening. Kon, is a 6 month old long haired sable German Shepherd from working lines. Attached also are pics of his parents & after he arrived today. At the appointed time, in the future, he will breed with our Nela Bear Von Timber that we had shipped from Poland. Ready to continue his protection training.

Welcome, Nela. Both her mom & dad are from Poland & are imports. We had her shipped to us a little over a month ago. 🖤🐺 Check out the pic of Dad, Unix. He is stunning! Nela is growing so fast & is 15 weeks old! She’s got some amazing bloodlines, parents health tested & her pedigree is mind blowing.

He’s been found!

***GOOD NEWS: K-9 CHAOS LOCATED 🐕‍🦺***

Sheriff Hunter is pleased to report that K-9 Chaos has just been found and is in good health! A citizen observed him on SE Pounds Hammock Road a short time ago and deputies were able to retrieve him. A HUGE THANK YOU to the citizen who spotted him and called us!! Also, we would like to thank everyone who helped look for him and shared this information. We are glad to have Chaos back home!

UPDATE: 09/26/23 K-9 Chaos

After a nearly 24-hour search, K-9 Chaos has still not been located. Multiple resources have been utilized in attempts to find him. These resources included searching the area with UTV’s, aerial support using helicopters and drones equipped with infrared technology, and bloodhounds from Department of Corrections to try and find him. Sheriff Hunter would like to thank our partnering agencies who have assisted us in this search effort from the Suwannee County Sheriff’s Office, Florida Highway Patrol, Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission, Florida Department of Corrections, and Columbia County Fire Rescue. The area where we believed Chaos to be has been searched as thoroughly as possible using every available resource. We are still hopeful that Chaos will be found safely, but we cannot say with certainty that he is still in that initial search area. We would ask that if anyone sees him, do not try to catch him, but please call us immediately at (386) 719-2005. He may also still be wearing a marked sheriff’s harness. A photo of him in his harness has been included in this post.

Help us welcome this Beautiful Girl to the Optimum Family of Shepherds. She was delivered today & is doing great! All of her health testing is absolutely perfect, hips & elbows in great condition also!

We love her long & deep black coat. She’s two years old, AKC & her DNA testing shows she could produce Black & Tans, All Black, Sable, as well as Blue Pups. Not 100% sure yet, but if we get lucky, we may possibly get a Christmas litter from her & Kylo. Our Sable Long Haired Shepherd, whose finally of age to breed. 💕💕💕
