Fun shrimps for small tanks!
The fish don't care if it's a holiday. They still want food! Happy Labor Day!
Is it time for breakfast, is it, is it? The fish are always so happy to see us in the morning! Yellow headed jawfish friends.
Just arrived!
We got in the most adorable little Sea Hare this afternoon.
Aplysia Californica, these sea slugs feed only on algae. They are very peaceful and do best in well established aquariums.
Watch out though, if they feel threatened or get attacked by another tank mate they'll ink!
Algea wafers are always a fan favorite!
Especially for these Pygmy Corys (Corydoras pygmaeu). One of the smallest corydoras in their family.
These little guys are native to the Madeira River in Brazil, so they love tanks with lots of plants, and driftwood.
Pygmy Cory's do best in groups in tanks at least 10 gallons or more. Sensitive to water conditions, they can be difficult to keep, but with a well-established tank and proper care they are well with it!
***Simon the Goffin Cockatoo Update 3/17/23***
I'm sorry to report Simon is still not back at Neptune's Tropical Fish. She was stolen just a month ago from our shop late on Feb. 17th during a burglary. We are still hoping for a miracle to bring our feathered friend home, and we so appreciate all the support from Simon's fans watching other sites and the leads you have provided. We do still have a reward available of up to $5000 through Metro Denver Crime Stoppers (720-913-7867) for her safe return. We hope Simon knows how much she is missed!
The anemone crab, Neopetrolisthes maculatus.
This gentle little critter makes an excellent addition to your home aquarium. Its not always necessary, but they do best in an aquarium that has anemones, specially from the genus Stichodactyla (carpet) as this is their favorite. This symbotic relationship is always fun to watch! The anemone provides protection and food!
These mellow filter feeders also do well in male/female pairs. π¦
