Create a quiet room with comfy blankets, familiar toys, and maybe even some calming music. Close windows and curtains to muffle the noise and drown out the booms!

Memorial Day weekend is here, and while we're firing up the grill and soaking up the sun, it's important to remember our pets can overheat easily. Here are some tips to keep your fur babies safe in the hot weather.

💧 Provide plenty of fresh, cool water throughout the day.

🆒 Seek shade and shelter. Don't leave your pets outside for extended periods, especially during peak sun hours.

🚗 Never leave pets in hot cars! Cracking the windows isn't enough. Cars can heat up quickly, even on seemingly mild days.

🛣️ Hot asphalt can burn. Take walks during cooler hours or stick to grassy areas.

😓 Know the signs of heatstroke. Excessive panting, drooling, glazed eyes, and vomiting are all emergencies. If you see these signs, get your pet to the vet immediately!

By following these simple tips, you can ensure your furry companions have a happy and safe Memorial Day weekend!

As a pet parent, you’ve likely heard about Leptospirosis. Leptospirosis (aka Lepto), is a disease that can affect both pets and their humans. Leptospirosis is more common during the summer and fall months. Even something as simple as standing water on a pool cover, or in a bird bath, can cause your pet harm if ingested. The best course of action to prevent the disease is to vaccinate your dog yearly, wash your dog’s paws after they have been outside and don’t allow your dog to drink from puddles and other water sources that may be contaminated.
