Animal rescuer Zoe Rosenberg was just found guilty of felony conspiracy and three misdemeanors for her rescue of four chickens from Perdue's Petaluma Poultry slaughterhouse. These charges carry a potential sentence of nearly 5 years in jail. Meanwhile, Petaluma Poultry faces no consequences for leaving sick animals to die or scalding animals alive. Zoe was represented by Chris Carraway, Staff Attorney at the Animal Activist Legal Defense Project, and attorney Kevin Little. She will appeal her conviction, including several of the court’s rulings, such as its refusal to allow her to present a necessity defense and severe restrictions on what animal cruelty evidence the jury was allowed to see.

Meet Andy 💚
Andy is a 7-year-old Green Cheek Conure with a big personality in a small package! This chatty little guy loves being out of his cage, spending time on his foster mom’s shoulder, and taking baths. 🛀

He’s full of charm (and a little sass!) — he’ll happily chatter away, though he can get a bit screechy when excited. Andy has a soft spot for women and has done best in calmer homes. He’ll occasionally accept head scratches but prefers to be admired on his terms. Like many conures, he can be nippy if overwhelmed — so patience and understanding are key.

Andy enjoys a healthy mix of pellets, seeds, and his favorite snacks: carrots, apples, and bananas 🍎🥕🍌

He’s currently being fostered in Newtown, PA. Andy’s ready to find a loving forever home that can give him attention, care, and a calm environment 💕.

💖 Meet Frankie! 💖
Frankie is a 12-year-old Umbrella Cockatoo with a personality as big as her wings! She’s the ultimate snuggle bug — she’ll cuddle right up to you and even give full hugs with her wings spread out.

She’s a chatty girl who says “hello,” “goodbye,” “uh oh,” and “Frankie bird!” She’s not afraid of new people and does great with dogs around her cage. Frankie loves having music or TV on in the background — and she’ll happily dance along to any beat! 🎶

Her favorite hobbies? Shredding wooden toys, climbing the curtains, and hanging out on the curtain rod like it’s her personal perch. 😄 She’s calm, confident, and just an all-around sweetheart (though she could do without the sound of the vacuum!).

Frankie is part of our Help with Rehoming program and is still with her family in Williamstown, NJ. She’s looking for a forever home within driving distance — someone who’ll give her all the love, snuggles, and songs she deserves. 🏡

We wanted to take a moment to thank everyone for a fantastic day this past weekend at Parrot Palooza! It was great to meet some new and old friends. 💕

Donation sold some items in order to raise money for the Rescue all in all it was a great day. Thank you to everyone who supported us throughout the day and we look forward to working with new folks in the near future!

💛 In Loving Memory of Little Bird 💛

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of our Little Bird.

He received so much love and care until the very end thanks to his foster mom, Patty, who stayed by his side through the night when his health started to decline and to everyone who supported his GoFundMe. All proceeds went directly toward his care and comfort. Unfortunately, LB developed sudden respiratory issues, and despite everyone’s best efforts, Little Bird passed away during veterinary care. The vets will be performing a complimentary x-ray to better understand what happened.

Little Bird brought light and joy to everyone who followed his journey — he adored his Parrot TV and touched so many hearts in his short time with us.

Thank you all for your kindness, generosity, and love. You helped give Little Bird the best possible care and surrounded him with compassion when he needed it most.

Fly high, sweet Little Bird. 🌈💛
