Meet Kiwi! 🥝
This sweet 7-year-old DNA-tested female Green Cheeked Conure is ready to find her forever home!

Kiwi is a playful, active little lady with a big personality packed into a tiny body. She LOVES her toys — especially her favorite spoon toy — and is an excellent eater. Her foster family is currently introducing her to pellets alongside her seed mix (she’s not sold yet, but we’re working on it!).

Kiwi’s ideal home:
💚 Patient and experienced with conures
💚 Possibly a male caretaker, as she seems to gravitate that way
💚 Someone who will give her time to warm up — she steps up more easily once out of her cage
💚 A safe, secure home that understands her flying ability and the importance of keeping doors closed
💚 She enjoys head scratches, has bursts of vocal energy (especially near bedtime), and is learning to meet other birds, though she’s always been a solo girl.

Foster Location: Brick, NJ

Say hello to the adorable Kono!

Kono is a 28-year-old female Goffin’s Cockatoo with a heart full of love and a personality all her own! 💗

Kono has been diagnosed with PDD (Avian Bornavirus Positive), so she requires an experienced adopter with no other birds in the home unless also PDD positive. Despite her special needs, she is active, curious, and absolutely loves to explore.

About Kono:
✅ Prefers females but is not aggressive toward men
✅ Not your typical hand-tame bird but will allow the famous “chicken grab”
✅ Needs constant supervision when out of her cage—she loves to wander!
✅ Not suitable for condos, apartments, or townhouses
✅ No dogs, cats, or other animals
✅ Currently not on medication but may require some in the future
✅ Thrives on a fresh & pelleted diet (NO Seeds!)
✅ Can be loud at times (she’s a Cockatoo, after all!) but not a constant screamer

Meet Kiwi, Bleu, Coco, Rita & Calypso — a charming crew of five bonded Budgies looking for a forever home together!

Shy at first, these beauties have come a long way in their foster home — slowly warming up to human interaction, especially when millet treats are involved (Calypso is especially brave and curious!).

They love flying free, chattering when people are nearby, and getting into some good old-fashioned toy destruction. Calypso might even show off his escape artist skills — he’s our little Houdini!

They enjoy a healthy diet of fresh chop and Lafeber pellets and are happy in their upgraded flight cage. Though not hand-tame yet, they’re making great progress and will thrive with a patient, bird-savvy home.

Meet Max! 💚💛
Hatch date: February 1994

Max is a 31-year-old Yellow-Naped Amazon with a very big personality!

Max had been with the same family since he was just 9 weeks old, but sadly they could no longer care for him. Since coming to the rescue, he’s adjusted very well in foster care and is showing off his boisterous, comical, and charming nature! So much so that he will greet you as soon as you enter the room in the morning and ask you to say good morning to him.

He’s A fantastic talker – He loves his morning greetings and will happily chat with you!
Loves to play – Peek-a-boo is his favorite game!
Very social – He enjoys human interaction and thrives on attention.
Energetic & playful – He loves out-of-cage time and exploring his surroundings.
Curious & observant – He takes in everything around him and enjoys being part of the action.

Like many Amazons, Max can be territorial over his cage and is still learning boundaries. With continued guidance and patience, he’s making progress. Max has been vetted and disease-tested. DNA results are pending. Max previously lived with dogs but wasn’t the biggest fan.

Bonded Pair of White Bellied Caiques Looking for Their Forever Home! 💛

Meet Pericles & Belfa – two stunning, silly, and deeply bonded White Bellied Caiques ready to bring laughter and love into your life!

✨ Pericles (3 years old, male) is the bold adventurer, always first to step out and explore!
✨ Belfa (2 years old, female) is the sweet and curious one, following her best buddy everywhere — and the last to go home when playtime ends.

These two are inseparable — they eat, play, explore, and cuddle together. You’ll find them chirping softly to each other and snoozing side by side in their hut every night.

Did you know that every time a parrot is purchased, even legally, from a store or a breeder, their “value” trickles down to areas where they fly free? Today is International Awareness Day — join us in shining light on the harm rendered unto by the human desire to keep them in cages. Despite international anti-poaching policies and frameworks around the world, parrots continue to be trafficked to meet the demands of the global pet trade. 29% of all parrot species on the planet are listed as critically endangered, endangered or threatened on the IUCN Red List. 58% of all parrot species are in decline. In many areas, the poaching rate is 100% - no chicks escape the wildlife trade. 90% of trapped birds die after capture.

Did you know that parrots are one of the most frequently abandoned of all companion animals? Their wild nature and natural inclination for loud and frequent vocalizations, aggression, and destruction of property are too much for most guardians. Standard pet industry practices, such as hand-rearing (i.e., parental deprivation) further complicate factors, as they actually undermine a parrot’s ability to mature into a psychologically healthy, well-adjusted adult, and increases the likelihood of a bird’s failure as a “pet”.

Even the most loving parrot guardians often find themselves unable to care for their longtime pets in the event of declining health, financial struggle, or other life circumstances. So it’s not surprising that sanctuaries across the globe are at capacity, unable to address daily requests for surrender as more and more birds flood the market from breeders. This is the .

The best way to help parrots is to and support your local sanctuary. If you love parrots, don’t buy, breed, or sell them. We must stop thinking of these wild animals as “pets”.
