It's supposed to be heading back into the 90s, feels like over 100 weather this week so keep those fur kids safe and well hydrated. Don't take them when you're running errands, leave them in the AC, keep the water bowl clean and filled with fresh, cool water, and watch for signs of overheating.
Maverick is flying high with his furever family! Congratulations and Happy Tails!
Thanks for fostering, John and Tanja! 😘
UPDATE: HE IS HOME. THANK YOU FOR SHARING!

Good morning, I was scrolling through recipes on Pinterest when this showed up. It made me giggle and say, "Sounds about right." How about you? Do you pin recipes and DIY ideas that you know you will never use?

Today is Be an Angel Day. Everyday angels are out there. We call them volunteers! Every day their dedication shines through. They donate time to transport, foster, work events, and raise awareness. They donate supplies and funds. They share posts, contribute ideas. They adopt and rescue their pets. They strive to save lives in any way they can help. We appreciate everyone in our little band of angels! when we work together!

Lunchtime Laugh... for World Mosquito Day... keep'em away! ICK!
It's World Mosquito Day. We're not celebrating but raising awareness. Mosquitoes are a major disease spreader and can infect your pet as easily as yourself with a variety of maladies. The main concern for your pet is heartworm infection, which is a nasty disease that I wouldn't wish on my worst enemy. Take precautions and remember to give your pet their preventative medications, talk to your vet about safe bug repellents, keep water bowls clean by changing the water regularly, and keep standing water to a minimum as much as possible. Mosquitoes are most active at dawn and dusk, so try to keep your pets indoors during those active time periods.
How I am feeling on this Monday morning!
Ugh! Kudos to all the mommas out there who taught their sons to put the toilet seat back down and good luck to all those ladies still fighting the battle. 😄
Lazy Sundays are the best. Unfortunately, while Mya lazes around, Mom will be doing laundry and cooking, but I promised to take some reading, cuddling, and playtime with MyMy.
It's Black Cat Appreciation Day. My sister rescued a black kitten years ago. He had a deformed bottom lip and struggled to eat, but she got him fixed up, and he was sleek and gorgeous and brought presents to those he loved. Black cats are the best, and you're the unlucky one if you've never had the pleasure of crossing one's path.
My favorite time of the morning is spent watching Mya sleep. Her soft snoring, occasional swipe across her face with her paw, the near smile on her face lets me know that she feels safe and loved, and all is right in our little world. Have a wonderful weekend!
Lunchtime Laugh... it's been a ruff week!
Happy Friday, folks!

Thank you Mary and Nancy for another great rescue!
47 Dogs and 9 Cats were saved from kill shelters!
Animal control facilities, rescues, and shelters are overwhelmed. Every week, we receive numerous emails and messages about surrendering an animal. Every week, we're transporting as many animals as we can to alleviate the euthanasia risk, but it feels like we're not even making a dent compared to the number of animals in need. Money is tight; adoptions are down; fosters are few; partner facilities are equally overloaded, and volunteers are stressed to the hilt; we're heartsick most of the time. We keep plugging though because PETS ARE WORTH SAVING! Remember a few hours of love with you at home is 1000000 times better than any time spent in a cage surrounded by loud noises, weird smells, and all the unfamiliar and the heartbreak.

It's THANK YOU DAY! So, we'd like to take a moment to say a huge THANK YOU to our transporters, fosters, volunteers, and to all of you out there who support us with financial donations, by sharing our page activity, and by attending our events and fundraisers. On a personal note, I would like to thank my fellow PAWS Board of Directors. Thanks for making hard work fun in addition to rewarding. Rescue is hard. It can be discouraging, heart wrenching even, but it can also be joyous. No matter the situation, it's always worth the effort. One animal that comes out of a horrid situation where they're cowering, neglected, near bones turning into a fluffy, playful, loving companion to a family who absolutely adores him is all it takes to wash away that heaviness. All those who volunteer in PAWS do it for the love of animals and the desire for them to experience a happily ever after in a loving home, so THANK YOU for giving your time and your heart to the mission. #rescuedismyfavoritebreed

It's National Thank You Day, so we'd like to say thanks to all of you! Thank you for helping us get the word out, thanks for donating time and funds, especially thanks to our adopters for loving our furry alumni, to our fosters for loving and getting them to the point where adoption is possible, to our transporters for going the extra mile to save lives, our volunteers for being there every step of the way, and our Board of Directors who never stop working for animals!
