Everyone understands the problem with cat over-population and the need for Spay and Neuter programs. The question is WHAT DO WE DO WITH THE CATS (and kittens) ALREADY BORN? Cat's Cradle Rescue keeps cats out of shelters by offering an alternative to a cage - we are a no-kill FOSTER-HOME BASED rescue group that welcomes cats to our home environments as they await adoption. Cat’s Cradle Rescue is an all volunteer non-profit rescue group formed to promote the well-being and adoptability of local Oregon cats. We provide loving foster homes where abandoned and shelter felines can socialize in a family environment while receiving medical care, spay and neuter surgery with the goal of being adopted into qualified caring homes.

1)Why Foster Care? Does your new kitty like children? Does she play with dogs or find other felines too uncomfortable to be around? Does he have consistent litter-box manners? Does he want to cuddle or perhaps his comfort zone is to be more independent. Many life-factors influence cat behavior and while genetics plays a role, we know that human touch, kindness, nurturing and consistency of care are non-negotiable requirements. We provide all of this.

2) Helping the Community

Traditional shelters in our area do not accept owned pets. We help cats stay in their current homes until adoption and offer free online postings and guidance. We do not have space in our foster homes for every cat and accept cats only when a home is available.

3) How You Can Help? Have you considered being a foster parent? Housing cats or kittens on a temporary basis is a win for the feline, a win for the adopter and a feel-good win for you as your care saves lives. Become part of the solution! Donate:

Meet Marlo, Milan, and Mahi — a charming trio with silky coats and even softer hearts! 💞
Marlo is the big brother of the group, around a year old, while Milan and Mahi are his 7-8 month-old younger companions. Though they would love to find a home together, Any of the three would thrive solo or with another friendly cat — as long as he/she has someone to keep him entertained and loved. Milan and Mahi have slight soat color variations. The boys play together well but sister Milan is always part of the team so we prefer two together and the single to a home with another sweet and active cat although all 3 together would be an “instant family”! All three are indoor-only kitties who have politely requested a nice window seat to watch the world go by.
Marlo is a big, loving, and gregarious guy who’s not shy about making new friends — he might even walk right up to greet your houseguests! A spirited chaser of strings and laser dots, Marlo will keep you laughing with his playful antics. He enjoys being held (cradled feet-down) and will happily nuzzle and give kisses if you’re open to affection.
Milan and Mahi are sweet siblings with nearly identical markings — except Milan sports a stunning “masquerade mask,” while Mahi has a cute black patch on his chin. They’re gentle and affectionate once they settle in, and they love cuddling up on the bed with you. Both enjoy being brushed and petted — ideally at the same time!
❣️Adoption fee: $150 for one, $250 for both, $350 for all THREE!
(Includes neuter, microchip, vaccines, flea/worm treatment, and negative FIV/FeLV tests)
🏡Currently in foster care (Indoor-only homes only)

🚨 URGENT: Chong & Shadow Need Temporary Placement by Sunday 🚨

Their owner is becoming houseless on Sunday, and all backup plans have fallen through. She is desperate to keep her two beloved indoor cats safe. Even a short-term foster (a weekor two weeks or a month) would make all the difference.

💔 From their owner:

“This is the hardest thing I’ve ever had to do. Due to circumstances, I am now homeless and living in my car. I have two very sweet boy cats who are my ESA companions. Both are neutered and strictly indoor.

Shadow is a 6-year-old fluffy black Chantilly with gentle eyes. He’s terrified of carriers due to past trauma, so living in a car isn’t possible for him. He has a harmless double eyelid on one eye that looks like he has eye boogers.

Chong is a 5-year-old tabby who’s allergic to fleas and most flea medications. He’s a snuggly sweetheart who loves people and other animals once he warms up.

They have never been apart from me, and I fully intend to reunite with them once I find housing. I was told I only have until Sunday to find them a safe place — otherwise, they’ll be outside, which would be terrifying for them. Please, if anyone can help, I would be forever grateful.” 💜

These boys are loving, gentle, and just need a safe indoor space to land temporarily.
If you can open your heart or home — even short term — please reach out ASAP. Call 503.312.4296 for details.

Confident, energetic, and always eager to be part of the action, Sam is the kind of cat who loves being involved in everything his humans do. Whether it’s following you around, chatting with you, or curling up for a long nap on your lap, he wants nothing more than to share your company.
Sam is a big fan of head and chin scratches—and he won’t hesitate to let you know if he feels he’s not getting enough attention. He’s also a talker, happy to carry on a conversation with anyone who will listen.
When it comes to food, Sam’s enthusiasm is unmatched. He currently eats dry food three times a day with his kitty housemates’ schedule, but he would gladly snack all day if given the chance. He may even go on the occasional cabinet adventure in search of treats!
Sam thrives in a people-focused home and would do best as the only pet, as he prefers to keep his territory to himself. In return, you’ll have a loyal, playful, and affectionate companion who loves toy puff balls, mice, and riding around on shoulders.

If you’re looking for a sweet, loving cat who will be your shadow and your best friend, Sam is ready to be the purr-fect addition to your life. Sam lives with his temporary owner in Vancouver and his rehoming fee is $50.

Meet Baby a special one eye boy 🖤
Baby showed up at our deck door last summer, around 6 months old, injured and asking for help. With time, care, and lots of love, he has made an incredible recovery! Though he’s now blind in his right eye, he’s healthy and happy, and no further treatment is needed.

Baby is a shy, mild-mannered boy who has learned that petting feels really good — he even flops down for a cuddle before breakfast! He’s currently living safely in a catio and is learning to wear a harness so he can enjoy the yard on a leash.

He likes to call out to other cats he sees, though it’s unknown how he would do living with other cats, dogs, or children. Because of his partial blindness, he would not be safe as an outdoor or barn cat — but he will thrive as an indoor companion where he can feel secure and loved.

Baby’s story is one of resilience and trust. He’s ready to continue his journey with someone patient and kind who will give him the safety and affection he deserves. He lives in Oregon City with his rescuer and his rehoming fee is $75.

Mercedes and Rosie‼️
Outgoing and fun together: they love balls to roll and chase and especially small “spring” toys to toss around. They are addicted to Laser tag and toy mice to flick in the air.
When the sun shines these indoor-only kittens love to lounge in the enclosed catio at their foster home and enjoy watching birds from a safe distance. Rosie (pink collar) is especially friendly and loves a good scratch and pet session and in the evening she sits on our laps and purrs constanly. They both like to watch football and Rosie seems especially interested in the Seahawks! She was disappointed in the OSU game on Friday but will watch any sports on TV when it is offered to her.
Mercedes (aka Mercy) is also friendly and she is more into toys than laps. She has a little bear stuffie that she brings from room to room and they both play with catnip toys. Mercedes is silly and someeimes dips her paw in the water and licks it off instead of drinking out of a bowl. Both kittens love their cat trees and alwys scratch appropriately.
This bonded pair interact with our senior male who is a gentle giant and they will be playful with adult cats and other kittens if you have someone who needs a friend. These playful housse panthers were born April 25th and are easy keepers on canned and dry food. They always use the litterbox.
❣️Adoption fee: $250 for both
