Focusing on fun from yesterday's cousin visit.

Rough start to today. Something killed our male goose that was sitting a nest with his mate, a bunch of young pullets disappeared during their first free range outing, my 100 tomato seedlings have some disease and are dying off and a bunch of trees are down on our perimeter fencing.

Farm life is hard. These pictures and thousands of others like it, make it all worth while.

Have you ever used lard for your pie crusts?

It is a MUST for easy, flaky, delicious crusts. I always like to "test run" my Thanksgiving pies and this dutch apple is my new favorite.

Just a reminder that I will take any unwanted pumpkins as they become available for our pigs, goats, sheep, chickens and turkey. They can be dropped off at our farm in Hillsboro or I am happy to pick them up. Ya'll made some very happy animals last year. 🐷🎃

Another successful processing day!

Thankful for the sacrifice these birds gave to nourish us and many others. Grateful to amazing friends who dedicated the day to helping us butcher. Blessed to have kids that enjoy being a part of the process.
